posting as may help others coming to the end of a deal. My contract with virgin just went up to £41 per month for only 70mb broadband and weekend calls, no tv.

I said I would leave and they were not bothered. prior to my 12 month deal expiring it went to the 41 a month from 27 per month.

Now they rang me to offer £39 per month, 12 month deal

Oops hit send too soon by accident. the new deal is £39 per month including line rental for 200mb fibre and all channels including sports and movies. i tried to blag some account credit or freebies but they said no.

Virgin need to sort their act out with loyal customers. I have gone down to just 100mb BB For £31 for 6 months then £34 for 6 months 12 month deal. Took me 2 days to get them down to that price. And I know that's not even a great deal. It's like blood from a stone.

I'm paying £50 for that's in the op but not for much longer! I think they only give bigger discounts if you are on a high package to start with.

ive been with virgin since they started(15 years?),cancelled ,retentions ring so i tell them they are to expensive(89 a month for top package) guy says who are you going to?so i said might go to sky,he just said i cant compete with them and put the phone down.so i am now joining sky at the end of the month, sports, cinema, box sets, multi room, fibre max, phone @£50 a month.

This is a poor deal, why didn't you go for the new customer deal - £29month TV, 50mb BB, Phone, £125 Amazon Voucher & £50 credit.
#12
this was the new customer deal at the time, and i want movies sports and fibre.i am happy with it.
#13
By eck they pay you that much to keep you ;-)

Horrid service , Indian technical support very much , promises on improvements late by 2 years.

Paying for 100mb and getting 0.6mb best of time.

Retched , horrible , ghastly , frustrated ISP , winner of the don't do what they say award 2013/14/15 & 16.

I have 200Mbps from Virgin for £27 a month. All I need is BB, I don't care about TV and phone line. Every year I have to cancel my contract and get better price.

Some people need to understand that not everyone is good at negotiating or using common sense to get better deals

If it was me and I couldn't get the deal down to the latest new customer deal (if there is one) then I'd cancel and sign up as new customer (Virgin have been told by me on two occasions that's what I would do and it's not in their interest to keep opening new accounts just because of discounts)

Maybe for those not getting "the real deals" it's time to ask a family member or friend to come in and get it sorted

Did I name you directly?
No
Some on this thread were having a dig at the OP's deal and I was just trying to give support

But if you want to take it personally can I suggest you visit your GP to seek medical help and at the same time take up English as a study

Interesting, I'm in the process of doing this. Just cancelled subscription 200meg top phone 2 boxes sports and movies at £110 a month. Ignoring calls til they unveil the new box next week and was gonna be happy with anything around £90. Will hold out for a better deal I think now...

I would love to go with sky but there is a guy that lives behind me that has a massive tree on his property that blocks the satellite signal. anyway he won't chop it down so I'm stuck with Virginia.
