Hot, 50mb broadband with no line rental, not sure why this is being voted down.

Because if yo're willing to take a chance on cashback etc you can regularly get BB plus a phone line for the same or less from ADSL competitors.

To clarify, do you need to pay line rental on top of this?

It now has to be included in the total price, haven't checked but it should be.

Some good prices there. Just accepted a retention deal of 70mbps broadband, phone with weekend calls + basic TV package with BT Sports for £21 a month including line rental.

Bummer, page locked and lost my reply to #7.

Gov rules say if line rental is required, it must be included in the headline price.

Anyway, I had a look, and this is a pure data only package, so no phone; if that is what you want, and you are in a VM area, this is the best you can get, as BT penalise attempts to have data only packages by making them MORE expensive than an ADSL/VDSL + phone package.

The price isnt really that much of a bargain though, if you compare data packages with the data part of other providers, even on my premium package with a premium ISP, I only pay £33 for unlimited 80Mb.

Tat merchants such as TT and PN are doing all in one packages for less, although obviously the speeds will be a bit slower and the service terrible.

Doesn't mean line rental is now free - just has to be included in advertised monthly price.

Ah yeh just had a look, still it's much nicer to see the price from the get go. I always hate it when you see a deal then at the end it's actually higher than what you first thought lol

Yeah like those flights for £1 that easyJet & Ryanair use to advertise.

Price of line rental is not included as you do not need a landline to get broadband through cable. So, if you've got a decent mobile contract, you can just pay for the broadband.

Cancelled Virgin due to their ridiculously slow broadband speeds at peak times. I had an "up to 200mb" connection which gave me 100mb+ when I didn't need it, but in the evenings I was often getting as little as 1.5mb.

Their forums are full of happy customers who are similarly delighted with their superslow broadband.

Traffic management and garbage upload speeds so not a great deal unless you just browse, they need to sort that out and get a decent price for the online gaming version.

It took me several phone calls and a 3 metre Ethernet cable but I finally got the 100 Mbps I'm paying for. The last operator I spoke to was very helpful but I really dislike the foreign call centre overall as you can't understand what the majority are saying.

Likewise, best adsl I can get here is 6MB compared to 50 on virgin fibre. Neighbours are all on a different exchange which is fibre enabled but I'm not. Hobson's choice if I want fibre

I was with them for 5 years, upgraded to 200Mb line and all I got was 10-15Mb consistently using ASUS Dark Knight Router, appalling. Took four months to get VM to admit there was a problem so cancelled DD, they wrote saying they found a problem with the service in my area and offered me £12 discount on £50 monthly fee. They are a joke, but now joke is on them as I put in a Small Claims citing not fit for service and harassment, as they kept charging me and threatening debt collection, when the service was turned OFF for 4 months. Hit em where it hurts, in the coinage!
