Just finished a 2 year £18.50 monthly contract with VM and the price increased to £31.88 monthly. Just called to advised what's the best they can do and looking at the mins I use came up with 250 mins, unlimited text & unlimited data on a 30 day contract. Usually £15 monthly but applying a £10 discount - yes it may only be 3G but struggling to wipe the smile of my face :-) Just call 789 from mobile or 150 from landline and select the 'thinking of leaving option'...

I can confirm I got the same deal for £5 pm (250 minutes + Unlimited text + Unlimited Data).. I tried to push them more to get more minutes but they said there is only two deals at the moment. £5 with 250 mins or £15 with unlimited everything. Nothing in between. Not bad for light user like me.

Cold. We don't really care what deals you lot got. We are interested in what deals are available to us and I don't see anything available to people who are not already on Virgin. This is a bragging thread rather than something to help the community.
Disagree. This would help the guys in the community who already have a virgin. I was a beneficiary a year ago, and paying only 6£ for 1200 mins, 1GB and unlimited text.
agree mate, i stated retention deal and yes these threads have helped me before like you, it's not about bragging it's about sharing that's the purpose of the site.... The Hulk obviously a little upset he's not on Virgin ;-)

No signal at home kept going to voicemail missed important calls, will never go back to a MVNO again always second best as other users have priority.
Cheap for a reason, bought an app called network signal pro and found i was always connecting to a slow cell tower even thou a faster one was closer, not saying it would not be ok for my mum but not for me.

i've had this deal for about a year now. they ask if you are a VM customer but don't check (i don't think they have the facility to do so). initially you sign up for a deal with them that doesn't tie you into more than 30 days notice, then after 3 months you can call up and say you are thinking of moving elsewhere and get a retention deal

btw they told me the "unlimited" data was capped at 3gb, and no tethering allowed but i've tethered a little bit 2 or 3 times when my data ran out on my 3g dongle and it worked fine with no warnings, but that was literally a bit of browsing on 2 or 3 days

it's a shame virgin don't do as good deals on the tv side of things to compete with sky's half price 12 months

What did you say to get that, and what were you on previously?

And I agree that people posting what they got is very helpful for others to know what sort of deals they can aim for.

Not true, MVNOs have same priority as EE

A pre warning to all you folk; I too was on Virgin Mobile once, £5 retention deal for 1200mins and unlimited everything else. If you are prepared to have FULL bars of 3g (yes full bars) and still not be able to even connect to whatsapp to send a message, then this is the network for you. Otherwise, it's really not worth it if you don't have the patience. Terrible, terrible network. However, its still a good offer so I'll add heat.

So what you are basically saying is that T mobile and Orange are also rubbish as these are the networks used by Virgin (T mobile predominantly)

I have the £5 p/m with virgin and can confirm that I get 250 cross network minutes, unlimited texts and calls to other virgin mobiles. I also get unlimited data.

Good deal other than they don't allow tethering which is what I needed as I have ipad that I watch films etc. on and tether this from my iPhone. I got the deal from 3 which is unlimited everything for £15.

So I assume that you would be happy to not complain about an in-store deal that somebody has found in their local Tesco in Cornwall, as few people seem to complain about such deals 'not helping the community.'

Never had an issue with WhatsApp or Virgin as a Network, could be a number of issues...

Try again, you may get a more helpful sales assistant, make sure you select the leaving option and sweet talk them, it's usually a £15 monthly taroff which is heavily discounted as long as you remin with them, in my case £10 monthly reduction...dont give up!!
