I agree, ban all deals on here - I can just browse every online shop while I spend the day going to every physical store...

Unlimited apart from the limits..............they are generous limits to be fair but how are they (and the others) allowed to get away with it?

The good thing about Virgin, if you have the contract for a period of time and go to cancel they will give you loyalty discount. I got the sim only, 1200min, unlimited texts and 1gb data for £8.50.
#11
Cracking deal. I picked this up when it was posted last week. They issue nano sim replacements and it works a treat with my iPhone 5!
#12
So how long do you think you need to be a current customer to get a loyalty discount like Ccontrol?

Got one of the 30 day SIM only deals for the wife a few months ago, can't remember which tariff, and Virgin called her up within a month or 2 to offer a deal if she was to sign up for a 12 month contract instead.
Think she was originally paying approx £12, but now pays £6 something a month.

Just left them. Had a great 6 weeks or so at the start of the year, then they started cutting everything. As a Virgin media customer I was on unlimited everything for £12, speeds were great, tethering allowed, etc... Then it turned out my data was limited to 10gb, which wasn't too bad... Then the cut they data speeds, so it was always just trundling along....then they cut the 10gb to 3.5 gb.... Then I I asked for my PAC code.

I wasn't impressed with their lack of information when they started cutting back, just found out on forums, etc, no official information provided. Even just asking for my PAC code was a pain, the (British) guy was bit of a pain, had to ask 5 times for my code... He kept just asking me how much I was paying for my new provider, (Three, the £20 a month Note 2 deal), that there were rubbish, that they cap worse than Virgin, etc. at first I was hoping he might offer me a good deal to stay, but no (I had heard Virgin do), I am just glad to have left.

The experience using Three has been great so far ((great speeds) I am aware of the horror stories with their CS, but, as seen above, this seems to be the way with mobile phone providers. (It seems I was a bit unlucky with the guy I spoke too, as if I was offered my £12 deal for £7 I would have probably kept it, but he just seemed a bit ignorant and no offers made.)

Heat added, but with caution...

Can vouch for virgin mobile. Been with them 5 months now and already had 2 months free and now on a £10 a month contract for 1200 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data, all on a 30 day rolling, just by phoning up.

One very important thing for iPhone 5 owners - Virgin share the t-mobile/orange network, and iPhone 5 works in 4G on theirs. It doesn't work on any others at present, except for Three who will have a tiny share of the frequency.

Same applies to the Samsung Galaxy lll.

This is something I looked up for someone wanting to either go sim only on the Galaxy lll or upgrade to iPhone 5.

Anyone know if Virgin allow tethering on these tariffs? Can't see it mentioned anywhere on their site.

Wish I could say the same, they offered me what they said where 'absolutely unbelievable' offers. Such as an iPhone 5 for £37 a month - everything unlimted for 24 months. Or a Bog standard Android phone, 500 xnet, 200 3 to 3, 300 text, etc for £21 a month for 24 months. I just laughed in their faces, I could get a better deal within one minute of browsing HUKD. I've been with 3 for years, shocked they can't do better, threats to leave or not.

Any links to more info on this? Presumably it is not specific to iphone5 and the same applies to any 4G LTE phone or dongle?

If so then it works out a hell of a lot cheaper than the same service direct from EE. Which isnt actually saying much given those utterly ridiculous prices. And in the real world virgins 3.5GB 'unlimited limit' is still going to get eaten up pretty fast for anything you actually need 4G speeds for, such as HD video.
#40
Seems like a great deal

30 day rolling contract

4g speeds and if you go over 3.5gb you are limited to 3G speeds?

Would be interested to know if you are speed capped or simply limited to 3G which is usually between 1Mbit and 7Mbit anyway

Can't see a nano sim option on their web site tho
