Virgin have brought back their £10 a month, 300 minutes and 300 texts offer to existing costomers. They put it up to £15 a month a few months ago but now existing Virgin Media customers are able to get it at a reduced rate.

You may need to pull the operators arm who you speak to on the phone slightly but you will get 300 minutes and 300 texts for £10 a month. I believe this offer is only on for a short period of time so if i was you i would be quick.

You can even keep your old number if you request your PAC code off your existing network.

EDIT: Please note this offer is not visable on the Virgin Media website, you have to phone up Virgin in order to get this deal.

EDIT: I also forgot to add that you only have to give 30 notice to cancel the contract. There is no fixed term.

EDIT: BTW if you are going abroad in the next 3 months DO NOT TAKE YOUR VIRGIN SIM WITH YOU. You will be charged around £130 plus calls if you do. It is to stop people signing up, making loads of international calls and then cancelling their direct debit or something along the lines of that.

It may 'expire' today, but i am sure you will be able to get this offer for the next week or so.

Just tell the person who you are speaking to that a lady told you this offer was on for the next week and it wouldn't be a problem if i wanted to take up the offer on Thursday(for example). You usually get your way if you say something like that.

I believe so, however i am not 100% sure. I think it may be £15 a month for non VM customers however i think you could get 200 minutes and 200 texts for £10 a month.

You would really have to phone them up as i am not sure to be honest:oops:

If it is only for VM customers you could always try and 'twist their arm' as all the phone operators have sale targets to meet.

i'm already on virgin mobile as is hubby & he has just signed up for £12 150 mins & 150 txt contract & i'm on pay as you go. he wants to transfer that over to my no. as he really needs more minutes so so u think they would do the 300 one for £10 if he phoned?

I am not sure, but you might need to have a VM package e.g TV, phone and internet for the deal.

However it would DEFINATLY be worth a phone call and you may be able to get the offer.

If i was you i would phone up VM now as they have a 24 hour hotline and waiting times are considerably lower late at night.

I think this is the number you need (freephone) - 0800 0520837

we got this on the 4 for £40 offer a couple of months back (landline, broadband & 2 sims). i used to be on orange and am finding the signal isnt as good & am missing the 2for1 cinema & the missed call texts, but it is only £10 compared to the £40 i was spending!
#8
I have this text from Virgin for the 300 mins and 300 texts for £10 per month.

You can still do 241 cinema on a orange PAYG sim card, and those missed call texts they send really **** me off, the orange signal is **** where I live and i get those missed call texts all the time. Can't wait for the contract to be over!

JFK is right the deal might come back on but you must be a VM customer and have phone and tv package as a minimum.......

OK thanks for clearing that up, however IMO it would still be worth a call even if you are not a VM customer as VM are notorious to allow you to 'negotiate' deals.

They used to roll any unused mins/texts over to the next month but not any more - sigh!
#14
They roll some texts over for one month, as I have 380 at the moment, but they don't roll the minutes over anymore :(. id be happy with much less texts and more minutes! I took out this offer a few months ago and I wonder if I'd be able to get another one for my son, anyone know? i was on the 3 for 30 thing, now on the 4 for £40 and it has saved me at least £30 a month, having the mobile deal, as i only now use the landline for calls not covered by the mobile deal.
#15
I recon there is quite a high chance you will be able to get another 'deal' for your son.

Just give them a call and the chances are you will get what you want.

I have been on this deal for 2 years now and it is wicked, I would say VM would be more than happy to sort it out for anyone who is already an exsisting customer, when I rang to get it I was all obnoxious and quoting my rights, the guy just said we are no longer an NTL operation so exsisting customers are better looked after than new ones.

since they stopped the rollover in April i think it was me and my daughter have just had the normal 300/300.i think it's the look of the draw.still a good deal tho.i've been on it for almost 2 years

Thanks everyone, Im going to give it a try and see what they say!
#19
Had this deal for over a year now, as long as you take out any VM service you would qualify, or so I was told. Also managed to get a contract for the wife too so we both pay £10 each month, not bad.

For everyone's information, this £10 300/300 SIM-only deal is only available to Virgin Media customers and they *will* ask you for your Virgin Media account number when you apply for it. Note that it is possible to get it if you're not a Virgin Media customer if you know someone who is - they can refer a friend or family member - and the rules are deliberately lenient to allow as many people as possible to qualify for the deal.

The £15 300/300 deal is actually something entirely different - it's what Virgin call their 'Liberty contract' and it's available to anyone who can pass a credit score and is able to be set up on direct debit.

My advice to anyone who's thinking about taking this out is to get in quick whilst you can - it's an excellent deal and I've got two of them myself! Virgin do have a habit of sneaking the £10 deal back in every so often but it can't be guarrantteed.

BTW - Yes, I *used* to work for Virgin Mobile up until very recently so these are facts, not speculation.

No this is not true. I just done it and set it up and I have no extra services, just an existing PAYG sim. Got the confirmation text already saying I'm getting 300 texts/300 minutes for £10 a month. Bargain. No need to have extra virgin media services. The question didn't even come up.

Also, as I was already set up as a Pay As You Go customer on their direct debit billing, I didn't need to provide any other information or go through credit check. I only use Virgin for mobile and spend about £10-15 a month on PAYG calls and texts so this is perfect for me.

Hot deal. Heat, Rep and Cool Points awarded. Shamone!

Are you sure? £130 just for *taking* your phone abroad? But that would technically be possible with any direct debit billing? Why would ONLY Virgin charge £130 if you take it abroad? Surely the point of running a credit check in the first place is to establish you're not going to do that no?

I've had my payg sim set up on DD for months and I technically could have used £100 and canceled my DD. But I've just been billed normally (at international rates). Are you absolutely sure?
#25
Thats what i was told on the phone. However different people do tend to tell you different things. I am quite certain that there is some ludicrous charge for taking your phone abroad in the first 3 months.

Virgin are different to other networks (or so i am told). You have to tell them that you are taking your phone abroad (after the 3 months) or you will be charged more. It is something to do with auto connection to different networks abroad.

To be honest i don't 100% understand, all i know is that you shouldn't take the sim abroad in the first 3 months, and if you are going abroad after that 3 months, you should tell them.

If you are uncertain about anything i would suggest you phone them:thumbsup:

i just rung, and they doing it til end of month

Thanks for this!

I tried at 6.30pm and basically they offered me the 'Liberty Deal' at £15.00. They said that despite being a current Virgin PAYG customer, the deal was only for Virgin Media customers.

I called back 20min ago, mentioned that the offer had been posted on several forums and was given the deal right away!

It works as £10.00 direct debit from your bank account each month for 300min and 300 text.

The offer is running until the end of the month...I get the feeling that if you have a current Virgin PAYG SIM and you have an account online with them they'll throw the deal at you..

Thanks to all who posted as I'd have given up after the first attempt.

This Virgin deal is ALOT better.

It is 300 minutes, any time, any network, including landlines.

LOL. It could be worth a go.

When i phone o2 to get my PAC code so i could keep my old number for my Virgin Sim they tried and offered me some sort of a deal. It still wasn't as good as the Virgin sim deal though, and as i was on PAYG with o2 they wern't desperate to keep me.

o2 were very much aware of the Virgin deal, so i recon quite a few people have left so it could well be worth a 'hagle' with o2.
#38
HI yes I can also confirm, I'm just a Virgin mobile user on Pay as you Go and I rang and just upgraded to 300mins and 300txts for only £10 per month - so thanks!
#39
Does the 300 mins include calls to 0845/0870 numbers?

If not, what are these charged at?

Currently with Talk Talk and spending circa £10 a month on 0845/0870 numbers, even with saynoto0870.com

Thanks.

What number did you use to call o2 please? I'm going to be requesting the PAC soon as well. There used to be the trick on calling the top up line, does that still work?

Not that i haven't had excelent service from o2 and been with them for a number of years, but the 300 mins wins it over with Virgin.

Cheers.
