This is the cheapest I can find this and is no doubt going to be one of the hottest games for the Wii this Christmas!

The cheapest I've seen this elsewhere is £31.99!

Good find!

Even cheaper than GAME with the "£5 off over £30" voucher code, as their price is £34.99.

Interestingly, the GAME page states expected from 2007-Q1; video & screenshots FYI:

Great find, looking forward to this one!

Preordered.

Great find  ... Does anyone know when the official release date is though? Virgin state 7th September - DVD.co.uk state 30th November and Blah DVD State 5th October!! i'm confused :?
#4
it's rumoured to be end of november or very early december. no official announcement yet though! expect Europe to get screwed again
#5
There is no "official" release date yet so retails are left guessing - but I would be amazed if it comes out over here this year.
#6
Correct, this is potentially game of the year.
However it's not dated yet- it could easily slip into 2008 like Smash Bros. did. Even though Nintendo Europe's president promised 2 of the big 3 games, one of which was Metroid the other must be Mario.

Anyway it looks to me like there might be a standard price drop for Wii games- GAME won't play ball and enter into price wars because they believe that £40/£50 is the model all games should adhere to.

Virgin is being more competitive, and others will follow suit soon. Personally I think it's far too early to be pre-ordering anything but Super Paper Mario. Not that pre-ordering does much these days. The game is always in stock at a reasonable price. I haven't paid more than £30 for a Wii game yet.

If there's anything you pre-order for Wii this year make sure it is Guitar Hero 3- that will be very supply constrained because the Guitar accesory.

Hot and rep given! :-)
#8
Does anyone have a voucher code to lower the price even more??? Because VMO26_03CC10 has expired at that would have made it £22.50 :-(
#9
Ordered. Voted hot, this is an amazing price for what will be one of the best games on the Wii.....EVER.

Hmmm only "problem" I can see from looking at Ign is the release date:

Published by: Nintendo

Developed by: Nintendo EAD Tokyo

Genre: Platformer
Number of Players: 1-2
Release Date:
US: November 12, 2007
Japan: December 31, 2007
Europe: TBA 2007

Minimum Requirements:
Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller

Features: Dolby Pro Logic II

Howerver TBA 2007 could mean Sep 7th 2007..

Great Find. I`ve been waiting for this games for ages and to get it at this price certainly sweetens the deal! FANDABBYDOZY as little jimmy Kranky would say!
#11
Great find mate, just ordered. Hope It does get released on this date!

At the risk of getting flamed... why is this game considered to be "the best so far" for the Wii?
#13
Because of it's tight controls, well designed levels and unique gameplay that only nintendo know how to deliver. It's not the saviour of the Wii with SSBM, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart and others coming out but I gurantee it will deliver on major scale.
#14
I'm pretty sure Miyamoto said they had developed Galaxy to have an almost simultaneous global release. I'm pretty confident we'll see Galaxy this year.

I had already pre-ordered this game form Virgin when it was £29 with the 10% off! Think I'll cancel and pre-order it at this price :)

Well, it's a first party Nintendo title, developed by their one of their best on-house studios. It's visually amazing, and all gameplay videos seem to suggest the controls are just as awesome.

See... I wasn't *that* impressed with the video on the GAME page (taken from Google videos); to be fair it is not my kind of game... it would be for my kids.

I am looking forward to "Mario Kart" for the Wii though... as it will save me heaps of cash not having to fill an arcade machine everytime we take the kids to the local bowling centre :)

Do you have any more recommended titles?

Here's my current "hit list":

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

(My Wii console should arrive this week)

fp, you could have a look at Rayman. When you unlock most of the minigames, it has a decent 4 player multiplayer. Just make sure you have 4 nunchuks.

Thanks... you mean "Rayman Raving Rabbids"?

We have that for the PS2 (£9.99 at GAME, if I recall correctly, if anybody is interested), and couldn't work out why it said 1-8 players on the box :)

Yes, that's a good option (and good advice about the controllers!).

I believe there is a "Rayman Raving Rabbids 2" due out in November for the Wii:

(As an aside, my kids really love the "Buzz! Junior: Jungle Party" title for the PS2; hope something similar is out, or due out, for the Wii - Is "Mario Party 8" similar... does anybody know?)

Thanks again.

fanpages, I believe we will see somthing similar to that released in 2008 as part of the the 'WiiWare' section from the Wii Shop Channel.

Until then, perhaps this might be what you want? :p
#19
fanpages - I think that Barnyard would be great for your kids, especially since its £15 at Play. And for yourself, I think Red Steel would be a decent choice.... it got mixed reviews, but personally I'm inclined to agree with some of the better reviews it got.

Btw, avoid Far Cry like the plague. ;)

Thanks... will keep tabs on it. As haven't played on a Wii yet not too sure about the ins'n'outs of the online stuff, but I'm sure I'll get to grips with it this week.

Am I right in thinking it is something to do with "Wii points" that you accumulate through purchases of titles, or can buy outright from elsewhere?

Scary! ;)

But yes, a potential Christmas party title.

No Mario Party 8 is nothing like it. But i'm sure your kids would love it.

I think Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will also be a game you'll be incredibly interested in, early previews are suggesting the game to be amazing & Nintendo Power magazine gave it a 10/10 (the second game ever to receive that score). We'll be waiting a couple of months yet though for it! :(
#26
Don't forget 10% off if you use a Virgin credit card too!
#27
Do Virgin take the money from your account straight away like Kays or will I get charged nearer the release date?

If that's the case, should'nt SSB: Brawl be out this year also? It's due to localisation issues.

Nintendo Europe stated at E3 this will be out Q4 2007, so that's pretty promising.

Also, it will probably be the best Wii game yet due to the fact its probably the only Nintendo franchise that dares to step away from the formula that other in-house games like Zelda & Metroid stick to.

Is there any way of getting 10% off at virgin other than using a virgin credit card? Does anyone have any discount codes yet!!??

At £25 I'd just preorder now, you never know when this offer may get withdrawn.

Thank you.

The "Wii Fit" I had seen photos of but no details, and my eldest son will certainly be hassling me for the Pokemon title. LEGO Star Wars I & II are already a hit on the DS Lite & PS2 in our house, so no doubt the re-released extended full saga will be on the kids' wish list(s) too.

I will look at the others & hopefully there will be something to tempt me too.

Thanks again.

I had this on pre-order last year with Choices as it was originally going to be out before last Christmas so nothing seems to be guaranteed with this game! My pre-order is in, heat and rep for this, hoping for Santa to bring it. :santa:
#35
Back at £29 after I just cancelled my initial pre-order which was at that price and 10 per cent voucher.

Sure it will be £25 again nearer release....

Welcome to HUKD. Thanks, now expired it. :)

Yeah, this returned to £29 just as I was about to enter my card details; dammit!

Still, found the cheapest pre-order for Super Paper Mario thanks to you guys, £22.50 with that discount code. Cheers!

EDIT: Also, if anyone's interested, Virgin seem to be selling Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition for £23, and it seems to be in stock. That's £21.70 with discount, and free delivery; cheapest I've seen it anywhere.

Don't feel too bad.

Noticed that "Mario Party 8" was £25 at VirginMegastores.co.uk too.

That's very reasonable... especially with another 10% off! :)

Hurt me as I ordered it from ChoicesUK yesterday for £27.49.

Some you Wiin...
