Recently, there has been a bit of a worry coz of the use of Mobitix, but I'm sure for those who like to get this for £1 instead of the regular £65 plus single ticket, this may of some use

what is the mobitix ?

It's the one that only 1 in 10 mobiles can receive.....
It's a ticket sent to your mobile phone.....frustratingly not every phone works with this system.

the site isn't working, just like the last time they had this offer
#4
Site Busy

Was just about to post this also.

Nice find. Just booked two return journeys for the family, at a pound each, each way. Briliant.
#6
Great deal, but pointless if they have such a dweebie website.
#7
shame it only available from London :(
#8
Thanks for this!!

I'm a bit confused though, i'm trying to book from manc to eus on say the 3 Apr, then return journeys the only option i have is from the 21 Apr... is this just because there is nothing available on the dates in between the 3rd and 21st?? please help!!
#9
I think so. Because it's easter.
#10
I can't seem to get it to let me come back on the same day. If I book from Man Picc to London 25/03 early in the morning to come back on the last train home, it won't let you. It goes to the next day!!

Is this right?
#11
I always books singles - the site doesn't always work for me when i select return

Weird survey said I could have printed tickets - but do not think it's an option for these cheap tickets

It doesn't even let me book a single!!!, this site is an absolute disgrace

Thanks for this. I'm trying to register my phone for wap but it's asking me do I want to set up my phone for
GPRS
Picture Messaging
Email
Which one of these is wap? I need to chose one. (excuse my ignorance)

Thank you Ros, much appreciated.

Cannot get onto the site.... saying site busy :(

If you book 12 weeks in advance it is only £11 each way Manchester to London by regular booking anyway. Just did that for a trip at Valentine's weekend for me and the missus. How do you book seats together by mobitix cos isn't it one tkt per mobile phone?
#18
Just booked 2 returns to London , £6
#19
There do not seem to be any weekend Saturday\Sunday singles either way and there were last time. Anyone know why?
#20
I guess this is available only for Week Day trains - and certain timings Only.
#21
Where does it stop along the way? Manchester scares me :)
#22
Tickets now received on my phone , what happens now ?

How do you actually get onto your train with E-Tickets ?
#23
You show the conductor the image on your phone and also the credit card used to pay for the tickets.

You also need one mobile phone per paying passenger, to show the tickets. It's a shame it can't be done on just one phone but can't complain too much at these prices.

You also can only go from London - Manchester or Manchester - London. No getting off in between, unless you want to risk not being caught. :)
#24
According to the FAQ's you can have more than 1 ticket on 1 phone .

I've booked 4 singles , there & back for 2 people on the 1 phone .
#25
I've received the ticket messages on my phone , when I click each link the browser opens up , starts the download , after 40% says " invalid file " !

Help

How are they saved on your phone ?

Thanks

From the FAQ's :

Can I have more than one Mobitix ticket on my mobile phone?

Yes. More than one ticket can be stored.

Tickets will have a unique number to distinguish one ticket from the other.

Each portion of your tickets will be sent four hours before travel.

Apologies PJR, I couldn't see how to do that when I used this service last time. I went through the process of having 2 phone numbers on my account. If I'd have known this, it would have saved me a lot of bother also.

No need to apologise mate , I had to use one phone as that is all I have .

I booked the tickets seperately by going to " My account " after booking the first set , clicked the " manage my mobile " tab, in there it has a tab saying " book tickets " .

Pretty straight forward now .

Anyone on O2 having trouble downloading the actual tickets ?

My browser logs on , downloads 40% then goes " invalid file " .

HELP !
#32
Iv bought these £1 tickets many times - but when it used to allow you to print the out.

Now i need 2 tickets but there is no way its accepting both tickets on 1 phone, unless i make 2 seperate bookings.

anyone know how to do it without making 2 bookings? thanks!
#33
Just make 2 bookings for the same train journey , as I have found out you can't do it on the one phone at the same time .

It really is a **** system except for the prices !
#34
Just trawling the web I've found it that it is the system at fault for my 40% download problems , NOT my phone .
:x
#35
What the hell !

Just tried to download again , message says " Your tickets are no longer available to download to your phone " !!!!!!!!!!!

Does this means I've lost them ?

:x :x :x

Mobitix?, what a load of junk. I don't have WAP or MMS on my phone as its an orange phone that's been unlocked but not debranded so I cant use Internet or MMS. I really can't be bothered now, didn't really want to go to Manchester anyway!

You might want to note this FAQ too, as your ticket(s) may be invalid seeing as though you've booked 4 separate tickets for 2 people on 1 phone..

Can I pay for a ticket for someone else if I am not travelling?

No. To help prevent fraudulent use the lead passenger must be the payment card holder and they must carry the card used to make the booking.

And also..

Before you buy your ticket

* The lead passenger's name must be the same as on the on the payment card.
* The lead passenger must carry the Payment card used to make the booking when travelling on this or these tickets.
* Failure to comply with any of these ticket terms and conditions may result in you having to pay the full fare for the service you are travelling on.

You may also like to know that I AM the lead person , I DO HAVE the card used to pay for them . I AM going on the journey myself , my passenger is MY WIFE , the 4 seperate tickets are for US TWO , THERE & BACK
