You're getting confused - the tickets you're referring to are standard advance tickets rather than a sale, and are often available on off peak trains at times when most people are unlikely to want to travel.

The actual Virgin Trains sale doesn't start till Thursday 9 March.

Dear all

I've booked the tickets from London Euston to Birmingham New Street for our family of 4 and decided to stay over one night. Could someone please recommended some good deal on hotel for 1 night stay nearby as it was no point coming back the same day on this deal due to the timings and prices which would make this trip very short and tiring.

I would really appreciate if someone could pls recommend a good cheap deal of hotel nearby and any other tips of what to do there once I reach BHX in the afternoon.

Do they accept Oyster card in Birmingham or how to travel and see the city or sightseeing pls ?

Thanks in advance
