Great tip. Thanks. Although probably lucky to get a seat on many of the long journeys back home for Xmas

But for the those of us that pay £4K /year for an annual pass ... nothing!!

That's nice of them... trains will deffinately be cancelled this year and they must know it.
They struggle at the best of times when theres no bad weather.

England needs to step up its game.

Just arrived in Coventry from Gatwick via Gatwick Express, Tube and Virgin trains from Euston. My pre booked train out of Euston at 11.03 WAS cancelled but with no questions asked and no further delay I was directed on to the platform to get on the next available Virgin train. Luckily I was early and got on the 10.23 arriving in Coventry just before noon. Yes train was packed BUT Virgin opened up 1st class seating for all, yes it had to stop at a couple more stops than usual BUT only really added 30mins to my journey time. Cmon lets give some acknowledgement to the companies making an effort to get early decisions made to try and help out Xmas travellers whilst others drag their feet and show little or no concern as to how you get to your destination. Well done Virgin!!

It sounds great, but suppose you'd bought a first class ticket!! Would you be happy in a packed carriage of rif-raf???

Only kidding, but you get my point?
