Virtua Tennis 4 allows PC gamers to experience the same thrilling court action found in actual matches, featuring real-life champions such as Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Juan Martin Del Porto and Caroline Wozniacki. In addition, tennis fans can create their own tennis superstar to take part in knockout tournaments and a brand new World Tour Mode where only the best will see victory. Lead your player in a quest for glory as you score victories in the most exciting international tournaments – bring the title home and be the next tennis star!

As with the upcoming console versions, Virtua Tennis 4 for PC contains an enhanced online mode including leaderboard support and a new social clubhouse where players can invite their friends over for party games and exhibition matches.

No Virtua Tennis title would be complete without the popular addictive mini-games, and Virtua Tennis 4 on PC is no exception. In between dodging balls, playing poker and rescuing chickens to get that high score, you’ll see the tennis court from a completely different perspective!

Key Features:

The world’s top stars return – The top players in the world return, joined by some of the most exciting up-and-coming contenders. An all-star line-up of 19 players includes Nadal, Federer, Murray, Sharapova, Wozniacki and Williams

Tennis stardom awaits – A totally new World Tour sees the VT career mode go ‘RPG’. Designed to encourage replay value and with an element of off-court fame, each decision affects a player’s career path meaning no two careers will ever be the same.

A true online hub for our community – The new online centre will offer the world’s first engaging online tennis experience. Designed using the popular Virtua Fighter 5 technology, the matchmaking system promises more competitive games, and online tournaments will seek to find the ultimate Virtua Tennis champion.

Experience the drama - A brand new on-court feature making for more dramatic matches. Build up your Match Momentum gauge over the course of a match and revel in your form as your player grows in confidence, allowing them to play shots mere mortals can only dream about.

Putting the fun back into mini-games – Breaking the mini-game mould to include new weather conditions and put a real focus on multiplayer action, the VT mini-games will give players a real alternative mode to compete in both multiplayer and online.

Virtua Tennis 4 for PC fully supports the Xbox 360 controller.

And another game goes onto the "I'll play this someday" pile. :p
Great games. Heat added.
Great game at a great price, enjoyed playing it a lot. Heat!
Played this on Vita and got massively addicted. Didn't expect it to be as good as it is!

The gameplay is fairly simple so you can get quite good at it without investing too much practice. I also thought the animations of famous tennis players were bafflingly accurate! Federer's general appearance and strokes actually look like they do in real life. The career side of things is done really well too, much more depth than I was expecting. Even the crazy mini games you have to do to boost your skills and condition (like rounding up chicken eggs, smashing plates and hitting a giant football into a goal) are really fun.

My only criticism would be that the online aspect doesn't really work. People just randomly challenge you during the single player, it takes forever to connect and lags something chronic or the match just borks completely. And my connection is good, so I'm inclined to believe that it's just pants.

Anyway, rambling over. It's a fantastic game even if, like me, you're not generally into sports games. Great companion to Wimbledon too!
Always decent for a pick up and play. Ordered, thanks.
Nice, wanted to pick this up during the steam sale but missed it. I'm not even into Tennis that much, but the games are a lot of fun. It's a bit like the Tony Hawk games(the good old one's :P), never skateboarded but the games are fun to play. Nice Post anyway.
ah, I have just seen on the Steam page this requires GFWL... did it get updated and removed? looks like I found the answer. Its a shame as GFWL are hit and miss on Windows 8.1, although I won't be playing online (more for local co-op) I don;t want to have to mess around installing/fixing that bloatware on my machine.

It's not £2.99, it's $2.99 (About £1.74).
