This is hi-def. 720p is 1280x720 and this is higher then that. Plus the one you quoted isnt widescreen so black bars would be needed to keep aspect ratio.

Edit 2nd time: Yes its not widescreen so totally useless for tv these days unless you enjoy black borders. I wonder what possessed them to make a 4:3 LCD tv with HDMI. Apart from having some dirt cheap screens that must be horrible. If your after an expensive 4:3 resolution monitor that could double up as a tv now and again then the Hannspree HT11 19" might be ok for you.

Otherwise if you want a high def tv that you could use as a nice monitor this Vistron will be fine. You could also hook up your xbox via vga and get 1440x900 as a resolution.

Voted hot.

lol i swear i saw a different tv when i clicked your link lol
my bad, yours is a better deal and is HOT

just so you know just because you have a widescreen tv doesnt mean you wont get black borders at the top and bottom

i have a 42" plasma widescreen and i still sometimes get them
it all depends on what aspect the source is.

again very sorry i think i must have done something to see a different tv lol

i may sound thick here but isnt lower ratio better as in most decent tvs have 1:1 ratio

No worries,,,,, yeah i know about the black lines.... they are a hell of a lot more noticable in a 5:4 ratio tv.... out of the screen you only ever use half.....

No the higher the ratio the better

For me, that makes no difference as I have Sky at home and no aerial. My 42" Sony has DVB but no use to me.

Same with me.... but makes a difference to some, and as this would prob be a bedroom tv always better to have built in, would want a freeview box lying around the bedroom.... that if i ever got rid of sky that is....

The ratio is the 'number of steps' between black and white (and the shades of colour), if you had 1:1 then black and white would probably be the same shade of grey. Low ratios usually give rise to the comment "the blacks are not very black". In my opinion, these days 1000:1 is the absolute minimum and you should be aiming for higher if possible (i.e. if budget allows).

This screen is 16:10 aspect ratio, usually only found in PC monitors.

TV is broadcast in 16:9, so either this screen has a border along the top/bottom, or worse, the image may be stretched.

bloody hell what do you want for £120???

No cold vote, though. Just advice.

Tried running my 360 through a widescreen monitor once, the stretched image got on my nerves. Went out and bought a 37" LCD TV instead ;-)
