I recommend people not to buy this, just see how many disatisfied customers are here: http://www.gadgetlounge.net/archives/2004/09/09/vivitar-dvr-390h/ - more specifically post 36, also the dates of the post show how old this is.

Nice find millarcat but this offer has been around for along time. I saw this the other day and comparing it to http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/109613 , and realised that the DMD is much newer and the 390H has many bugs with many disatisfied customers. Therefore I ended up buying the DMD 3 days ago and am waiting for it to be delivered although it has got a bad review here : http://www.t3.co.uk/reviews/entertainment/personal_media_player/vivitar_dmd-p20_personal_media_player

but t3 seems to be giving everyone but "Archos" multimedia players negative ratings so I do not trust t3. They also say the DMD doesn't play Divx files, but according to the vivtar website it does. All I can do is wait to test it myself.

Thanks ashy_mashy i appreciate your views and your feedback http://www.cheatsws.com/hukd/1.gif

There are a few bugs mentioned on there but To be fair though, a lot of the disatisfied customers was due to not receiving goods from auctionworld.

The one you linked to from ebuyer is an excellent deal too (slightly different though).

Thanks, I have edited my previous post to say that people should look at post number 36 on that website. Later on people also agree with what is said in post 36. I'll leave people to do their own research, just thought I should share mine.

I am really hoping the DMD is not a disappointment. I still don't know when it was released. It is very odd that the Vivitar DVR-390H is not on the vivitar.co.uk website althought the DMD is ( http://www.vivitar.co.uk/products/dmd/dmd/ ). Maybe the DMD is older than the Vivitar DVR-390H in which case I will send it back! I will call vivitar tomorrow and ask them which one is more recent as the newer one may have less bugs.

I would say the one i posted (DVR-390H ) could well be older than the one you've ordered as its not on the website.

Good luck with your order ashmashy, hope it runs smoothly :)

I have just talked to vivitar customer service and they said:

The DMD has only been out for 4 or 5 months

The DVR 390H has been out for a good couple of years.

So the DMD is newer.

That's good news for me, hope it helps.
