I bought one for my daughter so be aware the view finders is rubbish and it doesn't want to take shots with the flash. You can change it to take photos with a flash but only each time you start using the camara. I wish i had gone for something a bit better and easier but for this money it is cheap so HOT!

Do you think an 8 year old girl would appreciate this?

My daughter has this (cost £40 at the time) and it is truly awful. The photos look like they have been taken with a 1 megapixel phone camera. It ain't worth £1 nevermind £14.50

Just because things are cheap it doesn't mean it's a hot deal. Cold.

I have this and it is absolutely rubbish. Especially bad for kids as any movement or shake when taking pictures renders them completely blurred. The flash seems to run down batteries at an alarming rate and takes forever to recharge ready for another picture. Please do not waste your money

i bought a red one for my daughter and its pants ... totally not suitable for kids as ANY movement will result in blury pics and battery power using the flash is RUBBISH . other than that I recommend. :-P

These are truly rubbish - I bought 6 for a school project and they are utterly unusable

DONT BUY!!!!!

Vivitar are definitely the worst brand for anything photography related, it's best to just ignore them and pay a little bit more for another make or don't get one at all.
They feel like lumps of plastic and give poor photos so if your thinking of getting it as a present, it won't be appreciated.

Plenty of warnings on here yet STILL people vote hot. Sometimes HUKD is crazy!
