would be a bit worried about the USB 1.0 interface

it's not even 1.1 and even that is incredibly slow compared with 2.0

if you're taking videos they'll be very large files and with a 20GB HDD it would take hours to transfer that much data.

voted cold I'm afraid :(

Yep the transfer speed is a bummer but aside form that, what about use as an MP3 player? All the reviews I've read are judging it as a £250 device. It changes things a bit when it's only £70 :)

The 3 user reviews are very positive.

Still, you can get a USB 2.0 20GB mp3 player (e.g. sony walkman nw-hd1 or 3) on ebay for less than this price, so not the best of mp3 players (slow transfer & bulky as well)

This seems to have an SD card slot so may be usable to back up SD cards. Unfortunately no mention of compact flash.

Not a particularly fair comparison, though, is it?

In my quest to find an mp3 player which plays ogg vorbis too I'll consider anything, I know the Sony doesn't. That thing didn't even play mp3's from the start!

My comparison was to willdashwood saying it could be purchased to be used as an mp3 player.
