Needs more info in the title, like what it is, how much it is and where it's from.
#2
Added "£0.39 in-store @ Home Bargains" to title :)
#3
I think it still needs more added to the description.

It sounds like if you fit this - fish will be breaking into your house to get safe water.

You did pretty good... just need to remember that a lot of members use the "text only view", which means they/we/I see the forum as a set of headers, which they/we/I have to click to see what the posted deal is referring to. The more info in the thread title, the better :-D

Thanks for the post(s). I'm giving you rep :)

I used this for the first time last week, next day fish was dead! Ive heard I should have waited half an hour before I put the fish back but it didnt say anything about that on the box, does anyone know if thats right? Price is great I paid over £3 for a bottle this size.

I have been using this sort of stuff for years , never had a fish die yet. Are you doing a complete water change. I do a 5% water change every 3 days. Tank and fish are in pristine condition.

think thats what i did wrong as did a complete water change

Into tropical fish myself.:-D

Do they have anything else, I was going to go get the feeder.

I use API conditioner (do a 10% water change each week), cost just under 4 notes I think, so this is good.

Yeah, never clean your filter or ornaments.gravel in tap water either. It will kill the 'friendly' bacteria that keep your fish alive. Always rinse in tank water if need be.
#13
The other thing to be wary of is in new setups tap safe will remove all the chlorine etc. in the water which means the tank water will probably go cloudy, just need to be patient and let the friendly bacteria build up and all of a sudden your water will become crystal clear

I've kept healthy tropical fish for years and have never added anything like this to the water...is it just me?

Really? You've been very lucky, chlorine isn't found in their natural environment.

they have this in the Coventry Home Bargains, and the fish food.

Had a look at the fish food, I think it was about 79p.......

I've got the full vivo set up and this price is great, got the tank and lighting from Netto a while back and bought the rest of the stuff from here http://www.wearefish.com/catalogue/vivo-store/

Heat added

Home bargains have also got the gravel vacuum for 99p ( again its Vivo brand)
Its self priming so you just stick one end in the tank, shake it up and down a few times, then it siphons out water. Its a lot better than the piece of hosepipe i was prevously using to do partial water changes. It cleans the gravel better without sucking it up the pipe too.
I bought some of the food for 39p too.

So you just use tap water?

I buy Aqua plus I get 2 litres for £14.95

100ml of this would treat 700L Vs this vio stuff that treats 55L per 100ml

So it costs me 6p to treat 55L.

It may look hot but it's cold
