I am not expecting this to get hot, just hope it will be useful to someone.

Okay thanks for that :)

Takes 3 or 4 months to get the cashback and even then you'll find that they'll only pay it if you hassle the cashback people.

Could someone point me in the direction of a good Vodafone deal. I have to date been able to use my work phone for personal calls for past 10 years. However, now leaving my job so need a good deal. Not a heavy user and would probably be good with a PAYG but if I could get a good deal for £10 a month it would give me more flexibility.

Think we would all like to know where this deal is.

Come on then tell us, please.

Exactly. Why did this person respond to my request for help and then basically just brag about their great deal. As Delboy would say. What a plonker.

wasn't bragging at all & have only just returned to this thread again.
anyway I thought I was answering your question about "a good vodafone deal?"
maybe in my response I should also have stated SIMO deal (instead of "no handset though")
from VODAFONE!

I could also tell about you this other unbelievable deal I get from virgin media and that would be bragging!
but then after detailing this deal from Virgin Media I'd still have to remind l you it was from VIRGIN Media as I don't think that even after having previously written (& presumably read your own question) & my response you'd connect the two. never mind.

If you read my original question.

You did not point me in the direction of an available good deal. You merely bragged about a deal you got at some time in the past.

name-calling I guess is all you've learned so far.. on this life journey
I have a fair idea of what type of person you are but would never resort to calling you as such.
I'd say though that it's evident for all to see that you're not very bright if you're using your employers resources for personal benefit & are also bold or foolish enough to come on a public forum to discuss it. hopefully you've not put that bit of information about elsewhere.
.. lucky you got away with it for 10 years.. I'd have sacked you on the spot!
