Why should this be hot?
I believe it is the only PAYG Mobile Broadband that does not expire (providing you log in every 180 days), all the others and the NEW Vodafone offering lasts 30 days.

Yes it is £15 per GB, but if you want to use the internet every few months (caravan holidays) to check email and look for days out it is ideal and the 1Gb will last for ages. I have purchased one in case my 12 months old one dies in the future (paid £35 for that).

Don't forget QUIDCO for a £3 payback, so ony £19.99 and includes £15 of credit!!!

Instant access when you need it - and no more paying when you don't. TopUp and Go gives you all the flexibility of Mobile Broadband, without the monthly contract.

The Vodafone K3565 Mobile Broadband USB stick is perfect for instant access to the internet when you need it - and no more paying when you don't. The simple TopUp and Go tariff gives you all the flexibility of Mobile Broadband, without the monthly contract.

Its so easy to use - just plug it in, it self installs the connection manager and all you need to do is hit connect in the utility & off you go.

Another bonus is that it doubles up as a memory stick, so you don't need to carry a separate one around. All you need is a microSD card to put in the memory card slot on the side and you can store all the files you need on your stick as well as being able to connect to the internet - how convenient is that?

It even comes with 1GB of usage pre-load on your account so you can start using it straight away once you've registered your details. You can then use it as & when you want until you need to add some more usage onto your account. £15 gets you another 1GB of usage and best of all, there is no expiry on your credit or requirement to top up every so many days.

With No contract or monthly bill and the simple Topup & go tariff, there's no fuss. Get this cracking deal now then top up whenever it suits you.

Please Note:
Providing you use the modem at least once every 180 days then it will remain active and your credit will not expire.

This tariff applies only to this product, Vodafone are launching a new tariff which will have a 30 day validity on the credit (£15 for 3GB lasting up to 30 days) which will be available on new stock of the K3565 modem so get this will stocks last.

*Currently the K3565 is not MAC compatible or suitable for usage outside the UK.

The one I received today was the £15 per 1GB Old version that does not expire, subject to 180 day login.
(The New £15 for 3GB 30 day one is for sale separately on the Link site and costs more)

Could someone explain? I'm new to this netbook lark. Is this a dongle or something completely different? I have a netbook, would it be suitable for me? Haven't a clue about these things.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dongle

A dongle is a generic term for many different things, however if you are after a USB device to get you on line when away form other wireless networks then this could be what you are looking for.

This USB dongle is perfect for you if you want to get your netbook online fairly infrequently without commiting to a monthly contract or buying time limited credit.

I use one of these with my netbook.

Is the modem unlocked then ? I would have thought you would have needed to put the same card in - or do you mean you would purchase another Vodafone card ?

It definitely does work with Macs.

Don't think its that hot.

I got one of those £4.95 delivered three dongles last year, unlocked it free of charge and am currently using it with a T-Mobile Pay and Go SIM that I got for free with the £4.99 Nokia 1208 last week. The SIM came pre-loaded with £5 credit and T-Mobile let you buy 5-days of unlimited mobile internet for £2.50. Suits me perfectly for occassional use on my netbook :-)

not sure where you get that 5 day rate from nut t-mobile site says

Mobile Broadband - What does it cost?

There are three plans to choose from - Mobile Broadband Plus, Mobile Broadband Extra and Pay per day.
Add either plan to get online with Mobile Broadband.
Pay per day
You pay £2 per day
£7 per 7 days
£15 per 30 days
Unlimited browsing* Yes

so yes you yet unlimited browsing for £15 per month but the greta thing about the vodafone sim is that there is no expiry - at least on this one - so if its for occaisional use of your browsing it less than 1Gb per month then this is better.

Shame the O2 Pay & Go iPhone SIMs are now hard to get hold of. They used to cost about £3 of eBay and gave you 12-months of unlimited mobile broadband after an initial £10 top-up to activate the card. Perfect for an unlocked 3G Modem.
#26
could i use my sim from my vodafone mobile phone as i have unlimited internet.
#27
I asked for some more clarification from Vodafone, this is the reply....

Its good to know that you've purchased a a spare Top up and Go £15 / 1GB dongle.

I'd like to inform you that you need to activate your mobile broadband within 7 days however you only get 1GB of data for £15 but there is no time limit on the credit as long as you use it regularly. I would like to let you know that 30 days restriction is only for new pay as you go broadband customers.

If you have no credit left and have not used it for 180 days then your account will be suspended but can be re-activated by topping up your account.

After 270 days without use, and if you have no credit, your account will expire.

If you have credit on your account, but have not used it for 180 days then your account will be suspended, but can be re-activated by topping up your account.

After 270 days without use, your credit will expire and after 360 days your account will expire.

Trust the above information helps.

Not sure how they could know if I activate in 7 days or 7 weeks?

Does anyone know if these work with windows 7 as it only says vista and xp on the pack?

Might be a silly question, but what happens after you use your 1GB? does it just stop working until you top up or do they start charging per mb ?

Thanks, just that on O2 website it stated they charge £0.20 per mb once your credit is used. Wasn't sure on vodafone.

Just to clarify, is it just the inital credit that does'nt expire, or all subsequent top ups as well?

Thanks.
