Do not buy this phone as you will never be updated to the latest android.....brought a smart ultra 6 and they never released lollipop for it and dont intend to.

Smart ultra 6 gets 6.0 anytime now, it's been confirmed from Vodafone.

Not as good as the Smart Ultra 6. Vodafone doing a cash-in on its name.

yeah I considered it when it first came out but keeping my ultra 6... hopefully marshmallow arriving soon to keep it going for a bit

How many folk actually care about the latest version of Android? I don't mean those in the know. I mean the majority of folk who probably don't even know how to check for an update. Yes I know it can include security updates, but it makes not a jot if folk don't update.

Dismissing a phone on updates alone if the phone is worth having as is, isn't the strongest argument.

FYI if you purchase by fastrack then the £10 top up is not required

i have had ultra 6 for just under a year but the browser's gone sluggish and i'm missing a decent camera which can take pics without keeping it stable for about 5 secs... if u not bothered abt taking good pics anfd a little slow net then go for it... i'm gonna probably try one of the motorola G4s

I would avoid anything with mtk chipsets, mediatek don't release source code which means no custom ROM support.

Ive just googled that and you are correct.......but to be honest too late and they probably held it back so they could sell the ultra 7.

Lollipop was out for the smart ultra 6 in 2015.

I rewrite this tutorial from forum.xda-developers.com :
Good news to everyone! Vodafone Smart Ultra 7 owners can now update their mobile phone operating system to Android 7.0 Nougat by using custom ROM. Google's newest OS, the Android 7.0 Nougat, comes in with many improvements and notable features such as:

I have to agree with you Simon but on this particular case, being on Marshmallow is important for the following reasons:-

- Doze mode is awesome, lots of battery saving overnight.
- Versions of Lollipop before 5.1 have a memory leak which makes them very slow very quickly.

Google really dropped the ball with Lollipop. Marshmallow is much better.

Not really an issue for 99% of the population.

Thank you op.
Was well happy with my SU6 until my battery started playing up like a fool, so I needed a new phone.
£104.99 after the bonus gift card my mam gave me after her recent purchase and I can give her the gift card straight back after this buy.
I can't see why this is going cold.

You basically get that for almost every niche phone when you Google '[insert phone model] Nougat'

It's just a load of rubbish.
