Yes another lease deal and yes some people do not agree with leases or see the logic to it, however, a very good price on a very good car.

For £259.07/mth net you can get a Golf GTD doing 5,000 miles per annum. No maintenance included but you should only need one minor service at mth 12.

£1,800 deposit + 23 x £175.74 + £199.99 = £259.07/mth net

Obviously not as great as the previous Golf R deals, but equally a great car at a good price.

Total price 6042.01 i think, that should be the price of the lease, not just the deposit.

Is it not closer to 6 grand. I don't like leases but if you were to buy a new golf, you would lose a fair bit in depreciation and sundry costs over two years,

But if you bought one new, then drove it for 2 years and took it back to the dealer, how much would it have depreciated? I understand that leasing isn't for everyone - I don't think I ever would - but from a cost perspective it isn't actually as bad as you suggest...

Seems a good deal to me. If I handed back my car to the finance company after 2 years I would have paid approx £10,500 for ownership over those 2 years on a car that I purchased for £21k. So I intend on keeping it, otherwise I'd be gutted having lost so much in 2 years.

The only reason to lease a car is if you want a new one every 2 years. After 4 years you will have been better off buying the car outright spend-depreciation wise.

In fact, if you leased cars like this for 8-10 years (most people on leases stay on leases), for the same price you could have owned a lovely Jaguar XE from new for that entire time).

The merc gla deal the other day at £1400 down and £225 per month for 10000 miles was much better.

It's probably only 6p plus vat per mile so to do 10,000 per year would only add £720

By cold hard finance, anybody wh is paying a mortgage that is a fair proportion of their income should not go anywhere near putting thousands into motoring costs.

But people do like to drive new cars and are prepared to pay for it. Heat for this option, even if it is a VW.

The GLA is dearer even when you add another 5,000 for this deal with a penalty

One of my mates bought a 5 year old S class for 6 grand and it's a much better car than this faster, roomier. and looks better and more reliable.Has the Golf got a heads up display,night-vision or lasers?

I didn't think so, and he gets 65mpg so much better.

And like me he loves fishing!!

Indeed and DPF failure is due to not using the car correctly, especially within warranty period.

Sorry but my i wasn't the one who posted about the S class. And As I said the problem isn't with getting it fixed it's by covering so few files that the DPF will get blocked and you will be stuck in limp home mode. Also if you know anything about diesels you will know it has nothing to do with using the car correctly, it's about short trip that cause them to fail and doing 5000 is classed as short trips by most manufacters. Unless you know more about using a car "correctly"

Yep still not enough

On cars with a very high sixth gear the engine revs may be too low to generate sufficient exhaust temperature for regeneration. Occasional driving in a lower gear to maintain around 2,000rpm should be sufficient to burn off the soot in such cases (refer to the vehicle handbook).

DPF regeneration will be initiated by the ECU every 300 miles or so depending on vehicle use and will take 5 to 10 minutes to complete. You may notice other symptoms and a puff of blue smoke from the exhaust, similar to an engine burning oil, when the process is complete.

Mileage is 12 miles a week, but then it might get used at the weekend to visit family or friends and it might be a 100 mile round trip. Therefore the mileage is low but the particulate filter is fine. It also can actively regenerate if needed, but I don't know if VW have the same.
