85bhp lol

Because every car @12k needs 500bhp or it's not good value or practical, right?

Imported you say

Is it a left hooker?

Will cost a fortune too insure in any event (if you can find anyone to insure it)

Ok but not for 12k VAG cars are overrated. I read somewhere that Audi charges 400 for bluetooth on SQ5 which cost 50k alone. Madness. Better go french :)

Well, then they wont sell them and will go out of business, or get bought by foreign competitors. People have been moaning about BMW and Audi's ungenerous options lists for years - but people still buy them and there is a lot of brand loyalty. I don't entirely see why you are comparing a £50k Audi with a £12k Golf - but the same argument applies, Golfs are popular family cars and have very good residual values.

It'll be right hand drive. As all Golfs in the UK are imported, not really sure what it means in this context.

Ok then, let's take a look at this particular Golf: 17 months warranty left, 800 miles (disappointed first user?).

For 700 more you will get one with delivery miles and non white paint and more warranty...

VAG cars are so expensive because they must have money to promote their cars in the press and other media, somehow they always win eg. skoda against land rover : http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/kodiaq/98051/skoda-kodiaq-vs-land-rover-discovery-sport-vs-kia-sorento

When you are old enough to dribve and need car insurance, you will understand what is meant by "imported"

On the face of it these are a good buy - there is nothing else on autotrader anywhere close, in fact these are probably at least 3K cheaper than any other nearly new ones I can see. That should off set the lesser warranty (and your UK dealer will probably argue and find excuses not to do any work) but really you are not likely to use it.

Value will be less when you get rid of it, but again, it depends how long you keep it. Interesting that they already have miles on them - not usual for an import, so my guess is these are Irish pre reg / canceled order

This might help with your comprehension issues : http://www.dictionary.com/browse/context

All Golfs are imported. Yes? Understand that? So my point was, why they were making a specific point of saying this one was imported. Understand? All Golfs are made outside of the UK, they are all imported into the UK: so, in that context, why specifically mention that this one is. ;)

Yes, they could be couldn't they? In which case 800 miles might represent a lot of wear and tear.

Or sod what the neighbours think and save yourself over £6000, 3 year warranty, brand new so you know it has not smacked a kerb, less toys but also less to distract you. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/new-dacia-sandero-2017-facelift-still-only-5995-otr-2577574?p=29597106

Hmm
Imported? from where? You need to know as things will be different ie thermostats, oils, tyres etc.
And Motorpoint? No thx, only went there once, never again.
Dont be caught out by cheap prices.
If you have this kind of money or can borrow at a low rate go to car auctions on a voltswagon day , you buy vw cars and vans direct from vw, serviced , perfect condition and still very little miles guaranteed still for alot less.

Steel wheels......
Standard on Indian models. Alloys cannot cope with the road surfaces over there.

biggest issue will probably be the road set up and the sealing on the underneath of the car. In the past many of these have come from Cyprus, where they wont be putting salt on the roads and have completely different roads to us.

Blutooth, along with mic etc are already build into Q/SQ5s, it just needs to be activated (£100 for a 1 hit wonder box) or yes, £4-500 for Audi to unlock it)

Better just go for the Dacia deals than a 85Bhp Golf.

I once bought a brand new Focus imported from Spain with delivery mileage of about 40,all well and good till I wanted to trade it in,dealers wanted it for nowt when they found it was an import. The savings you make at point of purchase are lost in resale value further down the line, never again
