41p a bottle seems cheap for volvic..granted you can buy Sainsbury's own at 21p but 41p for a litre and a half is a good price..

Bottled water is a complete waste of money and packaging. We pay water rates, why buy water again?

There is a massive difference. I haven't drank tap water for years (only mineral water). To me tap water smells like a swimming pool.

Try using a water filter. Will save you a lot of money and do wonders for the environment. All those nasty plastic bottles transported hundreds or thousands of miles. If you must buy bottled water, at least buy British! Volvic and suchlike brands are for snobs.

Water filter doesn't cut it. Yes, I do buy British water mainly. I just don't like the thought of drinking recycled piss, poop, medicines, soap or whatever have you that people chuck down the plug hole. I doubt every single element/chemical gets cleaned out of it, and I also don't like drinking fluoridated water (In my area its fluoridated, yet the majority of the UK generally isnt).

Not a bad price for volvic. Prefer Sainsbury's own brand which is just highland spring in a Sainsbury's bottle.

Larger fewer bottles but cheaper

Sainsbury's Caledonian Still Water (Scottish water) 4x2L £1.50 (from same location as Highland Springs)

Not even larger dimensions - 6 x 1.5 Brecon Carreg is £2.25. Aqua Pura 6 x 1.5 is £2.19.

depends on your preferences..i generally buy buxton-i dont really like highland springs or the cheaper brands.

the only tap water i will drink is from my home. i wont drink the water at work unless its been boiled so for me these bottles are a godsend-i this sort of weather i get through one a day at work plus whatever else i may drink.

40-odd-P seems like a good price to me for a big bottle

I hope you check that the bottles are BPA-free. Even if they are, there are plenty of other chemicals that leach into the water. According to a newspaper report yesterday, an EU safety agency has designated BPA a "substance of very high concern". Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is the main polymer used to produce plastic bottles, and has been shown to affect the hormonal system. The rest of the world is getting wise, e.g. New York City’s Fashion Week, the city of San Francisco, Grand Canyon National Park and others in the US have reduced or eliminated bottled water. We ALL need to get wise.
