VooDoo Bizango 29er Mountain Bike

Mountain Bike Rider, Hardtail of the year - under £750 "Killer Value with a great ride quality, this bike easily deserves top marks." Rated 10/10!

Halfords acknowledges that Mountain Bike Rider is a Trademark of Time Inc.

A bike that needs no introduction, the VooDoo Bizango 29er Mountain Bike is a trail-destroying beast that has a slew of awards to its name, and it's easy to see why. Bumpy trails are no match for this bike's specs: a 120mm Suntour Raidon air fork soaks up all those bumps like a sponge, and the 20 speed Shimano Deore drivetrain provides an excellent range with smooth changes. The Bizango laughs in the face of mud and obstacles thanks to its large 29" wheels and Maxxis Ardent tyres which provide fantastic traction without slowing you down. If things are getting too hairy, the powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes can be relied upon in all weathers, and it's topped off with a finishing kit that provides precise and direct handling. The Bizango is the bike that's always raring to go and sulks when it has to come home.

Frame: Lightweight double butted aluminium

Forks: Suntour Raidon 120mm fork with lockout for excellent trail performance

Gears: Shimano Deore 20 speed gearing for ultra precise and fast shifting

Brakes: Shimano hydraulic brakes for fast and efficient stopping

Wheels: 29" Alloy double wall VooDoo wheels and Maxxis tyres for excellent grip

I have this bike and did plenty of research beforehand. Good bike and components are great for this price. Heat added.

Supposed to be a cracking bike and has won best in up to £750 class of MBR tests for several years http://www.mbr.co.uk/reviews/hardtail/voodoo-bizango-29er-review-2013 and did so again in 2016 where it (at£600) was up against bikes costing more.

Sure it might not be as good as an Orange 5 or Whyte 900 series but it'll beat the pants off the £89 Halfords offering (which is a bike shaped object imho).

Another way to get 10% discount is if you have a son or daughter currently doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award. There is a 10% discount voucher on the DofE website for all bikes and cycling accessories including sale items. You do need to enter their Dof E membership number on the voucher for it to be valid. Sadly we discovered the voucher after we had purchased my son's bike for Christmas! :(

Can't comment on this model but I've a Voodoo Aizan 29er and it's a great bike so I'm sure this will be as well.

BSO - seriously? Voodoo are a good brand. Maybe Halfords snobbery occurring here.

Gets brilliant reviews....Does anyone know if the next version will set for boost? Or is this the '17 version already?

I had to Google what BSO meant myself, and it's clearly a comment a complete nugget would use "Bike Shaped Object"...... Well Duh! It is a bike, all bikes are the same shape!
#17
If you can get it for £450 it's a steal!
Geometry and handling isn't as amazing as competing trial bikes. But it's a brilliant way to get into mountain biking.

I've had one of these for 18 months and I love it.

I'm not sure if it still possible, but there was a hack where you could get 10% off with British cycling and then pay with vouchers you buy for 90% of face value. When i bought mine there was also a 10% discount code so I ended up with 10% off, of 10% off, of 10% off, so about a 27% discount.

Indeed I could get this bike for around £375 after all discounts but I already have the boardman comp 650b 2016 bike which is pretty much the same spec

I know, right? When will people learn that you need to spend at least 6k on a bike to meander around the park on a Saturday afternoon.

Incorrect, entry level hardtail specced as such but altogether a bike that will suit most people looking to get started in mtb. Halfords do indeed sell many bso but this is not one of them.

I've done this before basically you sign up to NHS vouchers you can buy £450 worth of vouchers for 10% off bringing your total lay out spend to £405. I think order to pick up through store via top cash back for a further 5÷ off later down the line. not quite £375 but as close as I could get. plus you need bc membership.

the NHS thing you don't have to work for NHS btw.

you can join bc free if you've never joined before. HTH.

You will need a discount code from Halfords I had one in my email for 10% off which took it down to £450 and then use you're BC discount card to take it down to £405 and then buy £400 worth of Halfords gift cards on ZEEK they normally go for 8-10% off so brings it down to around £370 or something around that which for this bike is a steal plus the 4.4% TCB if it pays out which would bring it down to £351 steal!

Belittling Severely Opinionated in this case. But officially "Bike Shaped Object" supposed to be derogatory toward cheaper bikes.

No, I think for £500 you'd struggle to beat it, although I did recently see some 2016 Cube Acid bikes discounted to this kinda price (think RRP is around £800 for those)
