quite alot to pay for improved (in your opinion - imo both butt ugly and fairly similar) design, antiglare screen and single ram slot usage.
xps is higher spec cpu, graphics, hard drive, speakers and has already been established to be good in reviews.

The Dell XPS 17 is a much better machine and quite a lot cheaper too. A couple of days ago, you could get the XPS 17 with a 2410M (N00X7M03) for £629.00 delivered. The offer has lapsed now but I'm sure it will come back soon. Also yesterday, I saw that you could get an older XPS 17 (380M, 320GB HDD, 3GB of RAM, 435M, 3years McAFee) for £569.00 delivered! This was very tempting but I managed to keep my wallet in my pocket! The offer has gone now.

I see your points brilly, nevertheless it is just an alternative. It come with one single ram of 4gb, but there is another slot. So This will be easier/cheaper to upgrade to 8gb than having 2x2gb, that will just go to the bin. Hardrive is about the same, and the graphics is slightly better, but they are from the same line of the 500'.

If speakers are important that yes the xps is a much better option.

You know that for sure?

For me is all about finding the right balance price / performance / and form...

wow this laptop can be had for £610, initially I had posted this deal at about £750..

You need to choose the model starting at £559, and add the £50 pounds off voucher..
