I considered but I've been to Italy & I try never to repeat. Although it's one place I'd go back to.

Thanks niceroundpound :) I've edited as I come across as a bit ungrateful there, & I'm really not.

Hi,

I must admit I didn't research it any further than the tripadvisor reviews, I'm sure they have cleaned up their act since that awful story last summer, judging by the more recent reviews, still seems a very good way of getting some fabulous weather for 2 and a half weeks for a great price! I doubt Thomson would still go there if it was that bad

http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/packages?airports[]=LGW&units[]=006328%3AHOTEL&when=19-10-2014&until=&flexibility=true&flexibleDays=3&noOfAdults=2&noOfSeniors=0&noOfChildren=0&childrenAge=&duration=1413&first=0&searchType=search&searchRequestType=ins&sp=true&multiSelect=true

sorry if I've upset anyone :(
I got married at this hotel 10 years ago. I stayed in the mambo (3 hotels combine as 1). Fabulous wedding but a few days after my husband and i were sick. He had to have injections and over 200 people were ill. Lots in hospital on drips. May have changed since then but I doubt it. Birds on the food etc. shame
I stayed here with the wife for a couple of weeks earlier in the year after getting a super cheap deal.

The food was OK, nothing to write home about but there was a reasonable selection and the menu varied enough to keep things interesting. They had prawns a couple of times which were lovely and the fish was always good. The selection of food available poolside was pretty average looking though, burgers chips hot dogs etc but there were plenty of people there who didn't seem to mind it, we preferred to get changed and eat in the Restaurant at the Bachata though as it has a lovely balcony which overlooks the beach, the Meringue Restaurant is a bit more dated and only has inside seating.

Drinks were OK, you have to ask for International spirits, Gordons, Stolichnaya etc but they were there if you wanted them. The local spirits weren't the best, but they did have a couple of reasonable rums as you'd expect.

There was always plenty of sunloungers on the beach, and normally plenty around the pools as well. Nice beach, but the snorkelling was fairly poor.

Activities during the day were fine, always something going on somewhere. You get access to non motorised watersports as well, canoes, pedal boats, even a couple of catamarans. If you aren't an experienced sailor don't take the yachts out if the surf is up, I watched two guys get creamed in the reef break ;)

Entertainment at night was a bit hit and miss, but a few rums made the odd poor performance acceptable.

It does get busy on the weekends when the locals come in, but there are plenty of places you can go if you wish to avoid them. There are another two pools which the locals don't get access to, and you can dine at the Bachata if you don't wish to eat with them. I found them to be fine though, lots of families with kids so the pool was noisy, but I never witnessed any poor behaviour on their part, the few noisy drunks around seemed to be either English German or Welsh oO

The staff were all pleasant and attentive.

I'd imagine that many peoples experiences vary so much due to how much they may have paid to stay there, if you payed £1,500pp for a couple of weeks you'd probably be pretty peeved, but if you get a good deal such as this IMHO it's pretty good value for money.

I'd certainly return again at the right price :D
Not a fan of the Daily mail but I think this holiday would have disaster written all over it. Avoid at all costs!
Wow 100% Cold from that review!!

Would love to go on a diving holiday like this. I've only done my basic open water a good few years ago now, but would love something like this to do the advanced.

Unfortunately I can't make it in May! Cracking deal for those who can.

Hot from me, Austria is stunning during the spring and summer.
Actually I was there 2 years ago and its a fantastic place. Was looking for anywhere until I came across this one so delighted with it.
Definitely. The only reason I haven't booked yet is we are actually in Mayrhofen beginning of July so was looking for another place ideally. Such a fab place. Enjoy your holiday X)

Anyone know the price of flights roughly, and how to get them cheaply. Im single bloke, and I am looking at b&b as my cheapest option. Thus i avoid the under occunapncy. Can anyone suggest anythink? Thanks

Your best bet is skyscanner.net, then use hotelscomparison.com to search for your accommodation. I always find Hotels4u.com really cheap and have used them loads of times. (Part of Thomas Cook)
Yea but whats the going rate for a flight these days. With goverment tax being add all the time (this is the last time they keep saying), and cost of petrolgoing up, I dont see why it has jump as much as it has. About 3years ago you could get a flight for below £90-100. I have seen it for £78 cheapiest. Ok I know things goup, bla bla bla. Thou to jump from average of 100 to now £160+ is quiet a big increase. So anyone know how to get a cheap flight, but not in middle of winter, say june or july or september and know a trickplease tell me. Havent been away for ages. I hate to line the pockets of these rip off airlines.

For those looking for a lively holiday - Prices are based on maximum occupancy. It says occupancy per apartment is 2-4 but prices are based on 2 sharing so would have to ring to clarify this.
