Just been into Tesco Home in Preston and bought the Vtech Kidizoom Plus Blue Multimedia Digital Camera for £24.97.

They had some Blue ones on the shelf for £49.97 and Pink for the same price, they also had a separate display lower down with just the blues ones for the lower price, appears that they have too much stock of the blue one and so are shifting them at half price.

Online they are still full price.

Excellent deal. Our kids love their Kidi Zoom Pros. I'm pretty sure the plus is the same camera just coloured blue or pink instead of black. £25 is an absolute bargain. Excellent find.

Amazing price. My little one just broke his, would be great to get a replacement at this price. Unfortunately no trip to the UK in the near future planned :(

Are you sure they're aren't just discounting the old model (that has a lower resolution)?

Never found that it really matters... the little one is happy that he can take loads of pictures, but won't be the kind of shots that will get developed and blown up to poster size ;-)

Even very young Kids can actually be very disappointed with the results of a Low res image that's all blurry as they are used to seeing photos from parents cameras and of course want to do the same. That's kind of the idea.

I did some looking around at Xmas time and we ended up going for the Crayola camera which has a much higher resolution than most kids cameras and holds a2gb SD card. It was about 30 quid new on Ebay. Our other option was the LEGO camera which was even higher resolution but a bit more expensive at around 45 Quid.

The Kidizoom plus was about 50 Quid minimum at the time so this is a good deal.

The Crayola looks interesting, though it looks almost too much kid like, not sure if this will be appreciated. Also it runs on AAA batteries?!
The Lego one does look like fun I have to say, though no memory card slot?

The one big advantage of the Vtech is that it also has games and plays MP3s which was almost as important than the pictures for our son.

This is an excellent camera for children, My 3 year old daughter got this for Christmas and uses it all the time, for a 3 year old is is ideal, tough easy to use, and at this price unbeatable.

went to two of my tescos and they had them but full price

I bought this for my daughter when she was 2 and she loved it. She wasn't worried about picture quality, she cared only about it flashing, some picture appearing and her mimicking what adults do. I liked it because it didn't break if she dropped it.

It is certainly no good for 5+ and you would need to take a chance with a cheap or second hand proper camera but you can get those for next to nothing these days. For a toddler, perhaps up to 3, 3 1/2, this is an ideal first camera.

Don't forget to look at Topcashback etc. as well.

full price on-line atm

Not in Telford Home Plus or Tesco Extra. Scanned at £49.97 with a big sign saying cheaper than Argos (by 2p whoop de do). Has anyone else managed to find them half price?

It was the same in all respects to the the full price models, they were all 2megapixel. and had the same feature set.

Bear in mind that this may not be available at all Tesco supermarkets, I got this camera from the Tesco Home store in Preston, that particular store may have overstocked on the blue version of the camera or there may be more girls in the area than boys :), other stores may not have made the same mistake or have the same demographic issues.

They have also got this deal on at Sainsburys (£25). They had both pink and blue in the Bolton store. Was going to post as a separate deal but not sure if it will be flagged as a duplicate.
