Got this on the last offer, good card for my basic (non-gaming) requirements but cannot get this to run my basic three screen setup which its supposed to be able to do.
MeistroUK#2
Got this last time was this price too, thought this could only run 2 screens
gazw#3
Popular internet opinion seems to be it can run three but apparently with an active adaptor from the HDMI port which costs more than the card did :(

I have no idea about computers, but would this work in my laptop to help guild wars?

What does it actually do? Thanks

How do the onboard graphics on the latest i5's compare to these budget graphics cards?

Not as far as I know. These are for small form format PC's only. I think that you need a specific much smaller laptop card (and a hell of a lot of patience and knowledge) to upgrade a laptop card as they are buried within the guts.

Graphics cards simply take the strain of creating all of the graphics within a program and then feed the processed data to the computer..hence the processor can concentrate on other things so it runs better ;)

when you say small form , will it not fit a normal desktop pc, got one on order to upgrade the onboard one in my cheap ebuyer zoostorm (another hukd deal)

Will play games quite good for £20. HD playback is good on this graphics. As for the games you will be able to play all modern games at around mid settings. Games like TF2 or Portal will run at highest if you really must.
kennylovesyou#11
@southpaw It'll work on a normal desktop, low profile cards are designed to fit in smaller form factor cases.

is this alot better then an old nvidia 8800gt

According to this (for the 8800GT) the 8800GT far surpasses this card in pretty much every aspect apart from core clocking. Depends which memory version you go for though, the GT also draws a hell of a lot more power than this one which is clearly designed for low power consumption.

Depends on the price difference and how you want to use the card obviously.

Will this work on Windows 7?

I have a backup PC which has an Asus AV8 motherboard with 1 x AGP8X (1.5V only) as well some PCI slots. I had WinXP on there previously and it was fine, but after upgrading to Win7 the old card doesn't allow me to take the resolution above 1280x768 - on a 24" monitor. Also, Aero features don't work. I found out, the drivers don't support Win 7. So, wondering if this would work properly on Win7?

first off ... what agp card is it ?

2nd .....slightly confused .... you want to put the 5450 card into the asus av8 ?

specs
Expansion Slots

5 x PCI
1 x AGP 8x /4x (1.5V only)

if thast what your askign then it wont fit in your mobo as this is a pci-e graphics card .... pci is a different kettle of fish . and nobody sells pci graphics cards anymore

...I posted this yesterday ...

I had it installed for a couple of weeks but have a problem. On windows 8 with latest win 8 hotfix and connected to samsung tv at 1900 x 1080p at 60hz (native/ recommended screen resolution ) the screen freezes, crashes and goes black. All you clever hotukdeal site users - Any solutions or was it a bad buy???
any help appreciated.

p.s. - not gaming, just watching online videos ( youtube and dailymotion) at simple and hd resolution.

Mmm I wonder if this will fit my computer ? I am currently using a 5 or 6 year old radeon x1650 "pro" and would like to finally get a hdmi output to save running a cable for sound. I have found it hard to want to upgrade when everything works and my computer does everything I need it to.

Thanks

you havnt stated you mobo .... but seeign as your using an agp card and this card is pci-e it wont work.....unless of course you had a mobo that did both agp/pci-e
