Vue - 8 food/beverage items for £7.20

Went to see a film at Vue Thurrock today with the family and of course they wanted to buy over priced pop corn ect. While I was in the que I noticed a deal flick past on the tv screen. There were no posters up so I asked about it and it turned out you can get 8 items off a list for £7.20. This included hot dogs that are £3.65 each, bags of pop corn, ice cream tubs, chocolate, natchos, regular drinks fizzy or tea/coffee, usually £2 etc

We had 2 hot dogs which would of been £7.30 by themselves, which saves 10p before you add 2 fizzy drinks, a tea, two popcorn and natchos! Everything shows up on the receipt as 90p per item.

Remeber Combos: regular drink and natchos or hot dog or popcorn are all over £6, thats for 2 items. So worth asking about this! I'm presuming it's all Vues?!

I'm not certain but I think this deal may be only available before a certain time
#2
so not just beverage items then....
#3
£7.20 is actually quite a lot...

Went into the cinema the other day at the start of on of those Bollywood epics. Big queue of people carrying full-on curries, chutneys, quite funny - the staff didn't say anything.

Personally I would always take my own drink into the cinema, though it's nice to get fresh popcorn.
#4
can you comfirm this is nationwide? thanks
#5
food or beverage items sorry baby put me off, I do take my own stuff alot but the movie was free today so I thought may as well buy, compared to the normal prices it's a great deal. Not sure on the terms and conditions which is why I added it as a tip.
#6
Good deal, thanks for posting. Personally I bring my own, but every now and then I buy.
#7
this deal is only available before 6.30pm. i went to the one in staines they had a sign clearly showing it but nevertheless it is a good deal if you get there before the time.
#8
Good deal will keep this in mind when i eventually get some more free movie tickets.
#9
Great deal thank you. With all the options it could mean a cheap day out for everyone compared to normal cinema prices. My son always wants something despite what I take with me!

Great 4D pic by the way...we had one done too and it is fab. Baby is 6 months here and I know it can lead to much distraction!

Butterkist cinema sweet popcorn is as good (if not better) than normal cinema popcorn, and only £1 a bag (from ASDA). Get a couple of bags of them and some cans of Coke (constantly on offer at most major supermarkets) and you will save a fortune (even with that offer).

Saying that, this is still a good deal for a cinema, so well found!

In a cinema???[/COLOR]

At the Eastbourne Cineworld we still have to smuggle in our own sweets and drinks about our body. I swear Batman would be proud of my utillity belt. I refuse to pay the prices they charge for sweets etc.
#13
i work at a vue cinema and can confirm that this offer is available - however, it is only available before 6pm.
#14
alternatively bring your girlfriend and ask her to take a very large handbag. Simply add all your favourite sweets and snacks to the bag and walk in.

Or if you are an ultra money saver, bring your own male-handbag.

I cringe at the price of cinema food, I'm sure Mr T would say I pitty the fool if he ever saw anyone queue for a hotdog at vue.

I pity the fools who queues at Vue cinema!

Apparently Vue cinemas are going to introduce wider seats too for all the fat ****s who stuff themselves with this **** instead of just going to see a film.

This is an amazing offer. Its a ripoff but you get yours worth for £3.10 each. very good.

Butterkist popcorn for a pound is unbelieveably good, its true. I love it.
#19
Vue popcorn is awful, Last time i got the sweet popcorn i kept getting odd salty bits as i ate it then i gagged on a big lump of salt.
The offer looks good though, the popcorn is sealed bags which I'd much prefer :)

Not worth it when you get paid minimum wage. If there's one thing we British Indians are good at, its saving money.

Nope, its just an offer that is on

I saw this when I was at vue - only good for large groups though

Sounds like a good offer compared to cinema prices, but still probably cheaper to smuggle in your own (they have never stopped me carrying a Tesco bag).

My housemate works at Vue so we get the occasional free tickets which is nice. Also he said the bags of syrup for the Coke cost the cinema around £15, which they then make over £500 from! Eeek!
#25
Blimey at them prices you could just go there for lunch with 7 colleagues.
#26
Thanks for this. My kids love the cinema and it's a real treat for them to have cinema snacks. It's all very well taking in £1 popcorn but if you take them and a mate or 2 they don't want reminding you're being frugal LOL.

It's nice to 'splash out' every now and again ;-)
#27
you dont need to smuggle snacks in, its illegal for them to stop you.
#28
Is this offer for all Vues, including the branches in central London?

By the way, it's probably not illegal to stop you but it's frowned upon, I mean, would you walk into a restaurant and take your own food?

It would look pretty bad don't you think, so I don't blame them for having this policy and to be honest, it's the cinemas main profit margin, as after they pay the rent and employees, they probably don't even cover there costs.

We went to Take That live from the O2 in Vue Harrow (got the ticket down from 17.50 to £5 on eBay  ).

To summarize the night as an absolute bargain, I went to the counter and asked about the deal. The answer was disappointing: valid up to 6 pm !!

:x

No idea if it's valid elsewhere ...

That's not only the cinema. I use to work for subway and they made loads off drinks on top of the over priced sandwiches.

It says this on the first page :?

Off to the cinema this afternoon on a freebie (mystery visit) and shall be making use of this great offer!

I went to Vue in Watford today and took advantage of this deal. Be aware though, the drinks are tiny and the popcorn is in 50g bags so you might want to double up on some of them! Great for hot dogs and nachos though
#33
the swansea vue gave me huge cokes this morning, dont bother with the popcorn though as they are small bags -the hotdogs and nachos were great though

Used to work for Vue awhile back. Hygiene standards were awful. For example I once saw one of my managers put popcorn back in the warmer that a customer had returned after complaining it tasted horrid. It appeared to be old stock which is usually stored at night and reused the next day but had clearly been forgotten for a few days. He just mixed it up with the newer popcorn.

Before I left I remember management informing us we could no longer stop people taking food in if they insisted as it was illegal. Whether its legal or not I don't know but we were told we can stop hot food that would create a smell but nothing else.
#35
sounds quite expensive although i don't know of any vue's here in northern ireland, i remember when i used to goto the cinema at the start we used to bring our own bags full of sweets in and whatever we wanted, but then alot of people started pre-mixing their coke with vodka and whiskey and stuff and smuggled everything else in they stoped it.

Your now not allowed to bring in your own drinks or food because people were making too much mess with empties and the smell, also there was also another recent issue with cameraphones were they had to be turned off and anyone found to have one in use or in their hand will be removed due to people using their new highend cameraphones to sneakly film the movie while pre-tending to send a text.

i just don't bother with the cinema anymore id rather use my online rental service and ly down in my bed and eat my curry and watch a film although ill be soon buying a projector which unfortunly isn't avalible for home del from pc world for some reason so i can't get discount codes for it as it costs £350 so ill have my own cinema like bedroom without been bothered for sending a text or eating my own food that i haven't been ripped off by.
