pmackers just got one

Recently bought one for my daughter (of course before this) and it worked well with both O2 and orange sims. Great little phone. Only proviso was that there is no (as far as I can see)predictive text so a slog at times to send texts.

I've got one of these phones. It's great as a spare phone (went and lost mine and waiting for a replacement so using this one in the meantime)

It does have predictive text but it is very limited and you can't add new words to its dictionary. I like predictive text but find it hard going texting on this phone with predictive as most words it doesn't know and the ones it does know I'd never use....

For the price though it's definitely worth getting one to keep in as a spare or for using when going out and you don't wanna lose/break your good phone or even to give to the kids as a first mobile - although prob wouldn't go down too well with kids nowadays, my 6 year old daughter refers to mine as a calculator rather than a real phone!!!

Voted Hot. Just Purchased One. Thanks.

I am not worried about functionality but how is the call quality pls?
#17
FAQ answers lol...

Postage will say £5 but will be deducted at the end.

The phone can take any sim, doesn't need unlocked.

hope this helps...

Look more like a calculator than a mobile phone

Well technically speaking it will coz Three goes to Orange when not in 3G area
But its against T & C of Three to use a 3 sim in a non 3G Phone

They might cut the connection

Received today. The phone is actually okay! I am pleasantly surprised, call quality is very good. Its tiny, measures 7.5cm high, 4.5cm wide and 0.6cm wide

WILL NOT WORK ON 3 NETWORK !!!!!

fine on Voda or O2 but when you put a 3 sim in nothing happens, screen stays blank

Looks pretty cool, I love phones that are actually phones with afew basic features such as txt msg. I wish someone would go completely back to basics and make one that didnt even have a screen. Just an on/off switch, big keys, the number keys and one button that makes and ends a call. My dad has stuck to his old nokia 5110 because he just cant get his head around colour screens or a red and green key lol. I think if someone did that then it would be a big hit as a fashion statement and for the old technofobes. Has anyone seen the price of those "old people special phones"? So over priced its unture. £100 for what is basically a £6 phone with big keys. Rip off merchants.

But there are plenty other sub £15 phones out there these days, I dont see why you would go for this one really. If you want sim free and cheap then carphone warehouse is good as pretty much all the phones they sell have to be unlocked. I would go for one of the cheap LG, Samsung, nokia etc over this, but this one is pretty small and it charges via mini usb. Either way you cant go wrong. Expensive phones these days are just stupid. Touch screens will never match the practicality of tactile keys. Try typing on an iphone when your drunk, in the rain at 1.00 am trying to get a cab. Youll end up throwing the damn thing.

I hope we see a resurgence in phones being phones again. If i want music then thats what an mp3 player is for, if i want the web thats what a netbook is for, if i want games thats what my psp is for, if i want gps then thats what my tomtom is for, If i want a camera then thats what my camera is for etc etc.

Ive just bought a battery for an old motorola v70 i had in a draw, its a pretty unusual phone nowadays and is retro cool. Plus I can sell it for £20 on ebay. A £3.40 battery and 4 free orange sims each with £5 credit cant be bad ey?
