Manufacturer's Description

About The James Martin CollectionTV Chef James Martin has teamed up with Wahl to produce this comprehensive product range. Consisting of 14 products, this range combines high quality and value to provide you with precision products.

About James Martin
James Martin was born into the chef's life: his father ran the catering side of Castle Howard stately home in Yorkshire, and when he was only 12, James could boast that he'd cooked for the Queen Mother on her visit there.
At 16, he went to Scarborough to begin his formal training. While there, he was student of the year for three years running. His work was noticed by Antony Worrall Thompson who brought James to London to work, first at 190 Queensgate and then at dell'Ugo. James then travelled throughout France working in the kitchens of French chateaux alongside the matriarchs of grand old families.
On his return to Britain, at age 22, he opened the Hotel and Bistro du Vin in Winchester where, as head chef, he changed the menu every day.
His TV career started in 1996 when he became a regular team member on Ready Steady Cook and he has since appeared in numerous TV shows such as Delicious!, James Martin Sweet and Yorkshire’s Finest as well as Castle in the Country and Stately Suppers for the BBC. In 2006 he impressed fans with his dancing skills in Strictly Come Dancing. James now presents Saturday Kitchen live on BBC One every Saturday morning as well as appearing in the Great British Village Show on BBC One and Sweet Baby James on BBC Two.
James is the author of numerous cookery books including the recent James Martin's Great British Winter, published in 2006.
The James Martin Electronic Scales are an ideal accessory for the modern kitchen. Lightweight and strong the digital readout with auto zero function ensures even the most inexperienced chef's can cook the James Martin way.

Two years ago, I meant to buy something like this, but I forgot, so thanks for the reminder, I've just ordered one!
Interesting that one of the customer reviewers on Amazon reckons that these are re-labelled Kenwood scales at half the Kenwood price.

It sure was, ages ago :-D

Nice scales but not much good for the kitchen as most of the ingredients would fall off without a bowl to weigh in :w00t:

Thankyou 'anglo' for the information

I luckly had it in my basket when I asked the question, now £11.44, so I paid £7.68.

We had a Salter which used CR2032 lithium 'long life' batteries which cost about £5 each year!

Regards woodview

sorry dont get it, why the not really, homebargains had them so why not really, if I could get the camera out I would take a picture to show you. check homebargains they probably still have the same one we bought just because it has james martin name on it doesnt mean its only made for them:whistling:

My brother got these type of scales about 2 years ago. They look exactly the same but made by a firm called Camry. I think they are made all the same but just print a `deisgner` name on them to be honest. Think he got his from home bargains :)

In fact here they are on the camry website. http://www.camryscale.com/showroom/ek5055.html

Same ones!!
