Oh nice! Already have this on CD and the stage show on DVD, but at £5 I'll bite. Something new for my Pioneer player to chew on.

Being a child of the seventies I also remember being gripped by the music; my uncle had the gatefold vinyl version with all the artwork. I would really like to get this, but I have visions of Alan Partridge in my head...

this posting's really weird!i watched an episode of the simpsons at 6.30, they were taking the mick out of the 1938 radio play that had people believing it was real,me and the kids have loved the jeff wayne version, decided to youtube the 1938 version! not a patch on jeff wayne's, 2 hours later i check hukd and there it is!! maybe it's a warning!lol, it still captivates me as much now as when i first heard it when i was ten!!

If you get the chance, it has to be heard on a SACD player with 5.1 surround :)

If you're an oldie like me, you might like to know that Jeff Wayne also wrote the music for the Fry's Turkish Delight advert in the 80's. Not a lot of people know that!

A quick wikipedia search can tell you a lot of facts like that, like also embarassingly he wrote the theme for ITVs Good Morning Britain too....ouch. :)
