About time it was reduced, the robbing b's at warburtons have been overcharging for bread for ages, have you seen how much their crumpets are now...oO

The problem is that Warburton's is just about the only bulk selling sliced bread that is both normally fresh, and having some flavour and decent texture, therefore can command a premium. The other issue is that all the other sliced bread is owned by a couple of conglomerates (used to be called RHM and Allied, but probably changed name now) with the same 'money means everything' attitude as Tesco, so no doubt do quite a few deals to keep the price lower. It doesn't matter how cheap it is though if it's crap.

The only decent bread that I buy. Tried others but couldn't find any other that beats it.

have to agree with paying for what you get on this occasion...i dont mind paying however much it costs for warbotons as its definately worth paying the extra for,its always soft and stays soft which enables me to finish the whole loaf, other breads ive tried (mainly mothers pride plain bread) have to be either toasted or chucked out on their second day because they are stale.

Agree also, definitely the nicest bread and the best for folding over for a chip or bacon buttie, all the rest just snap in half. In fact, I'm off to buy some from Morrisons soon if it's this price too. It was normal price last week there.

This is definately the nicest bread - but why don't they make toasters that accommodate it?!

I guess that nobody has told the Japanese/Koreans/Taiwanese that it exists. It is only in recent years that Warburton's had been sold nationwide, as in the 1980s and probably later it was only sold within daily delivering distance of Bolton/Leeds, and certainly not in London. The last point is the issue; if it doesn't happen in London, it doesn't exist.
