You can't beat Warburtons bread and I've just seen that the toastie loaf is currently rolled back to £1. I know that the farmhouse and seeded loaf are often reduced but this is the first time I've seen their normal bread on any sort of offer.

Instore and online.

also now this price in tesco!!

Gone are the days when bread used to be sub-50p... can't believe £1 bread is classed as a bargain nowadays (not directed at the deal poster, more at the insane supermarket prices).

I know what you mean. If someone had said a couple of years ago that I'd be looking for offers on bread (and that £1 a loaf would qualify as an offer) I'd have reckoned you were mad.

The thing that annoys me is that when prices were going up they were blaming high oil prices, increased global demand etc, but now that things have cooled off the prices haven't gone back down.

grrrr to high bread prices!!!! greedy big wigs at supermarket hq :( thanks op

Look at Wilikinsons too they sometime reduce bread 2-3days before it expires. I got some kingsmill thick cut normally £1.20 reduced to £0.59.

Surely the people on this site know that £1 for a loaf of bread is not a "HOT" deal. Its still a rip off.

We as consumers are accepting all the rip off prices in the supermarkets as normal. They're not. These prices are far higher than they were 2 years ago....but we are all slowly forgetting that.

NOT HOT.

Same price @ Iceland (along Kingsmill)

Cheap_n_Nicety , how about bread pudding or Croutons :-)

How the hell is this on the front page of Hotukdeals? It's 29p off a loaf of bread!

What do you mean? Isn't this the place to look before we go shopping to Tesco, Morrisons, Asda or Sainsbury's

I wouldn't pay £1 for any loaf of bread. I made a conscious decision when the prices started spiralling to never do it. How many people actually finish eating a whole loaf? I have known times, embarrassingly, when I have thrown out unopened loaves.

If you live near a Morrisions, they have wonderful own brand bread at excellent prices compared to this.

same price at tesco

Shame we can't get Warburtons bread in NI because it's the best by far!

Bought a Warburton loaf 2 years ago when I was last over in the mainland - never tasted nicer.

How sad I am for voting a loaf deal HOT, but I don't care.:-D

I normally buy the Hovis Original loaf and that's edging towards the £2 barrier - well it certainly is over here.

What's the point in compromising in quality and taste - if the loaf I want is nearly £2 , yes that's unfortunate, but a price worth paying non-the-less for a decent sandwich.

Cheaper bread simply tastes plain bland and tacky.

Correct, except that the Morrisons branded bread you're referring to is even better (than this particular one) especially if you like it thick!

2 for £1.20 on rathbones thick or medium sliced

When people vote a loaf of bread for £1 HOT there has to be something not right here.... Christ.
#21
Any idea when this deal expires?
#22
As already said, Morrisons own bread is nice BUT their extra thick toasty was 45p in July 07...now it's usual price is 72p! Occasionally it is on offer for 50p but thats pretty rare.
#23
warburtons now make blackpool milk loaf and they have ruined it

Didn't expect this to get so hot. However I don't see why people complain about basic items getting onto the front page, as for most people saving a few pounds each week off their shopping bills is better than reduced tv's, laptops or cars etc. £1 a loaf may seem expensive to some people but as Warburtons are one of the UK's biggest consumer brands plenty of people must buy it at full price so a 28% reduction those people is a good saving.

I just need them to reduce the medium sliced loaf as I can't afford it at the moment. :-D

Also this price in Morrisons now too
