lucyscollinslucyscollins

Tickets have just gone on sale for the Warner Bros Studio Tour of the sets from the Harry Potter films.Tours start next April but you need to prebook - tickets are not for sale on the gate.

From the fact it's taken me 4 hrs to get through this morning I'm guessing it will be quite popular. Bear with it - I think website is struggling under the strain at the moment.

Info from the website:

People the world-over have been enchanted by the Harry Potter films for nearly a decade. The wonderful special effects and amazing creatures have made this iconic series beloved to both young and old – and now, for the first time, the doors are going to be opened for everyone at the studio where it first began. You'll have the chance to go behind-the-scenes and see many things the camera never showed. From breathtakingly detailed sets to stunning costumes, props and animatronics, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London provides a unique showcase of the extraordinary British artistry, technology and talent that went into making the most successful film series of all time.

Secrets will be revealed

Warner Bros. Studio Tour London provides a thrilling new opportunity to explore the magic of the world-renowned Harry Potter film series – the most successful of all time. This unique walking tour takes you behind-the-scenes and showcases a huge array of beautiful sets, costumes and props. It also reveals some closely guarded secrets, including facts about the special effects and breathtaking animatronics that made these films so hugely popular all over the world.

The Studio Tour is located just 20 miles from Central London at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, where all eight of the Harry Potter films were made. It's a wonderful day out for the entire family, and fully accessible to all.

The Studio Tour lasts approximately three hours. Only a small part of it is guided, leaving you plenty of time and flexibility to explore the attraction at your leisure. Freshly prepared hot soups and snacks, salads, sandwiches and afternoon treats are available. It was more for information really as I've not seen it advertised much so thought people might not know about it. I found it when I was looking at Harry Potter at Universal in Florida but this looks much better and much cheaper.

Glad some people are finding it helpful. I had the same problem on the website (I kept trying all morning) but eventually got through on the phone (which also took a long time). Hopefully they'll sort the website to cope with the demand soon. It's just a case of keeping trying.

Good luck. My sister is very excited now we've got the tickets - a pair of big kids we are!

This is not a one off event / day. It is a theme park type attraction, so tickets will be available for nearly every date in the calender, so don't worry. The only thing is that you have to pre book a date that suits you.
Once the intial rush has died down, there will be plenty of tickets available :-)

Yep don't panic - I thought the same but managed to get tickets for 16th April. I think it's more that the website isn't coping with the demand rather than that the tickets have sold out. Every so often it's coming up with a message saying it's down for maintenance so they must be trying to sort it. I'm sure it will get easier once the initial rush dies down.

Yes exactly, Warner Bros have spent millions on this and have been building it for months already (it's behind my house!!) so no need to rush to buy tickets. It's going to open for many years I should imagine.

Er, sorry no, can't agree with you there.

It might be cheaper because you're not going to Florida for 2 weeks but no comparison really there are lot of things missing - Hertfordshire vs Florida, the good weather, the rest of Universal Studios and IoA (and Disney World half an hour away). Plus Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride is amazing in it's own right.

They are both good in their own ways and both worth doing for their own reasons. But the cost doesn't really come into it.

BTW Is this really a deal? News you can book - yes, but not a deal that makes admission cheaper than that generally available.

Is this another theme park style attraction to relieve people of their hard earned money!!(_;) why is it so over priced?
