we have the same washer but the 8kg version, it has a quick wash of 30 mins but only on 30° or a 60° wash that takes an hour you can turn each one down by 10° with each press which is good tend to use the 1 hour setting at 40° and also have fresh cloths the. Also the 1400 spin really helps with getting things dry. Paid £229 for ours a while back and thought that was a good price so for a bigger version it seems great :)

Can I ask why you needed to call them out, what happened and why so much money?

They are known for being a reliable brand with excellent customer service so you won't ever need to call on the warranty, which is parts only after the first year. Oh hang on, that was in the 70/80s they are now known for.......

my guess here is your referring to the tumble dryers they made that had issues. doesn't mean everything they make is bad, it's like saying as Samsung made a note 7 that caught fire so all their phones and TV's will do the same. I was asking the question as I'm curious to know what happened, not discuss the brand as a whole.

No they are hopeless full stop not even referring to unable dryers, we got to know our engineer so well he may as well have been on our Christmas card list!!

First one was a washer/dryer and drying never dried, was useless they came out and removed a filter but was still pants, Decided to get separate washer/dryer an Hotpoint Ultima washer and Indesit dryer The washer was faulty from day one, they had to replace mainboard. Then I had to call them out several times for various faults. After a year had elapsed they wanted £130 to come out, We had enough the pump had failed, I told them to send me a new pump since it was supposedly as 5 year parts warranty and they refused, Heating element packed up on dryer in little over a year and half, In that time we also had a Hotpoint fridge/freezer slightly over a year old, yep that packed up too, Not only that friends/family had or have had various Hotpoint products fail on them, See through threads on here and most people have had bad experiences with Hotpoint/Indesit/Ariston products. Truth is they were once a very reliable and reputable brand, that is until they shifted production over to Poland and use poor quality cheap parts.

Now have Bosch washer and it's lasted years, Not a single fault.

we've had hotpoint washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer for almost 8 years now, all 3 items survived a house move and 4 months storage. An engineer came to replace the back panel on the dryer in summer for free, and we've had no problems with the fridge freezer. Washing machine appears to be on its way out, it's started sounding like a jumbo jet propeller, but I personally think it's lasted us well and would be happy to buy the brand again
