This gets posted a lot and I'll admit I did post it last year after buying it as a Christmas gift but it's even cheaper than what I paid for it then.

It makes a great stocking filler. Don't forget Quidco / Topcashback.

Simply attach a WaterBuoy to your keyring (or other equipment) and help protect it from accidental loss. WaterBuoy offers the following features...

Able to lift up to 1kg in weight
Reacts in seconds to contact with water
Keeps on floating for up to 24 hours
Powerful built in flashing high intensity LED light is visible at night and up to 250 meters
Weighs a mere 32 grams and is very compact at just 7cm in length

Theo wrecked it!

If your keys get wet in your pocket, would it set it off and expand?

Shouldn't do. Apparently the manufacturer's splash-tested it for a month and then threw it in a pool of water and it inflated as it should.

Seriously, how many people really need a keyring that floats/flashes when wet?

People in Paisley!!!

I'd say not many. But then, how many people really need most of the things posted on HUKD? Horses for courses.

I was given one of these a gift. My first thought was how do you know if you have a faulty one?!

A cork is much safer.

Agreed, but they're not exactly small and pocketable compared to this.

I was thinking of getting 86, attaching them to various parts of my body and jumping in a lake for a laugh. But it's too expensive at £600. Therefore voting cold.

You'd probably only need 85 at this time of year due to shrinkage. Well I know I would.

Actually it would be £601.14p. Well if you want to keep it at £600 or below, you could do away with the one attached to your brain!!! OOuucch!! Merry Christmas. Hic! Hic!:p

Standing on a quayside my wife pulled her camera from her pocket... The splash was her keys which had snagged in the camera lanyard. I spent the next couple of hours "fishing" with a powerful magnet and string; pulled up all sorts of junk but no keys.

Total cost of replacement keys: £600 (most of this was taking the car to our nearest dealer, 160 miles and a ferry ride away).

Bought a couple of these, then insured our keys as well.

MUCH easier to carry than a cork big enough to float a bunch of keys.

must be good for people that fish, is it not one of the biggest hobbies/activity in Britain... We're talking millions.
