Good find, I want one but thinking of where I can put it. Need to do some measuring.
#2
great price, thanks, just what i need.
#3
Thanks OP. I bought an Argos self-assembly chest of drawers for my son's bedroom that has fallen apart after only two months. This looks a lot better - great price, heat added.

Its direct from manufacturer so there won't be any more and they won't honour the price as they buy them in as they are ordered.

Well I ordered two of these and the debit is now showing on my bank statement so the contract has been made. They shouldnt of taken the money if they didnt have the stock.
#23
but until its delivered u never know, they order direct and take the money first, its their policy.....within the law but not what I call fairplay.
Debited on mine too but stilll pending delivery.

UPDATE...they're showing the chest of drawers as available again so I've ordered yet another, perhaps we will be lucky ???

Price has gone up to £59.00 now. Someone has manually done that so they must still be available.
I wont be paying any more thats for sure, if they try and pull that trick.
#25
wow, was still £39 last night but all the other items bar the giant chest have disappeared.
A bit off subject but I rang them about some shoes on sale and the office said they were £39 and the black ones (which were £11 online) were out of stock. Went online, ordered and they have already been dispatched for delivery tomorrow.

Shoes arrived today so you never know!

Just in case anyone is still monitoring this thread. I ordered on the 5th Jan - delivery was to be "by 10th feb" no sign of it yet. Anyone else?
#27
Yep, same here. My account said delivered by 10/02/11 by still no change to order status. I have mailed them, will update you if anything changes.

I ordered three items from this range on January 4th, all money has been refunded today, no letter or email, i contacted woolworths to be told the supplier has contacted them and said the items are no longer available, a six week wait, very poor service from woolworths.

I also ordered January 4th. The money was taken from my account on January 6th. By February 14th I had not received the goods and cancelled the order. Today I received a refund but not the full amount.
Taking money for a purchase before dispatch is not illegal but it is unethical. I would not have anything more to do with this firm.
#30
Am the same - refunded this evening but not even a call or an email. I had been calling them and last call was today and they were still saying would chase this up.
#31
My order still shows up in the "order details" in my woolworths account (delivery 9/2/10!) but I cant check my bank account till I get home from work. Not looking good though :(
#32
My order status is also still showing as delivery by 9/2/2011, but it ain't here and going by other reports they will never deliver. Yet they have not bothered to tell me that there is a problem. I wonder how long they will sit on the money that they took from my credit card, over a month ago, if I don't complain? What a bunch of turds!

After sending an email I received the postage costs. A quick check showed that the Barclays brothers bought the Woolworths and Ladybird names.

I have had a very interesting conversation with Very - part of the Littlewoods group about the Waterford Chest that I ordered on the 8th of January. Very debited my account on the 11th of Jan and on my account status is showed the item was to be delivered by the 15th of February. Well as of Saturday night (19th of February) this had still not arrived so I called the customer service team and spoke to quite a helpful chap who advised that the delivery had been due to come in from the manufacturer that week but had not arrived as yet but he would raise a note on my account to ensure that it was sent on to me as soon as they had recived it. he advised me then to call back mid week this week in order to get a further update. So, this evening I logged back in to my account in order to get my account number to call them again and the order is now showing as "Cancelled" some somewhat perplexed I called the Customer service team again who advised me that I must have cancelled the order as they were unable to do anything their end which would result in that status so had repeatedly went over the context of the conversation I had on Saturday night where I had been advised that they would ensure my order was pushed through as soon as the delivery had been received from the Manufacturer. She then told me that the item was no longer available to order so I couldn't have the item any longer but both she and the "Team Supervisor" that she escalated my call through to, after heavy probing from myself advised that if the "Cancelled" status wasn't present next to my order, then my order would still be being processed and therefore there was a "possibility" that I would still receive my order. What they both went on to say was that they were unable to "reorder" the item and after me pushing to say I didn't want to "reorder" the item because as far as I was aware I had an existing order in place and I had personally done nothing to retract this order and therefore this whole situation had arisen due to a balls up their end and therefore I wanted my order to be reinstated to it's former staus so that I had the "possibility" that the order would be fulfilled they were a bit stumped as I had forced them to admit that if the error hadn't have happened, I could potential still receive my order that I had placed 6 weeks earlier and they had taken my money all that time for. I then got passed on to a Team Manager who went on to say that as Level 1 Customer service people, they had not been trained to deal with this level of enquiry and my order had indeed been cancelled by them as they were no longer to get hold of the stock. I now have a member of the senior complaints department calling me to tomorrow to try and resolve. I'm just appalled that they made no attempt at communicating with me to say intially that the order could be delayed or secondly that they were cancelling it as they couldn't get hold of it anymore so in the meantime, my daughters clothes remain in several piles on her bedroom floor awaiting the new set of drawers after having thrown the old ones out last week thinking the new ones were on their way this week. It's made me so frustrated as when I placed the order, there were other items available that would have also fit the bill on very good deals in the January sales and now, they are no longer available and I can't get hold of the ones I had expected to be here by now.

Just to update you all on my particular saga. Contrary to most peoples comments, we were not billed when we ordered, (the order actually said billed on despatch) so I was fairly happy to let this one play out and see what happened. Well, the other day I checked my order status and it said 'delivered' . I checked my account and sure enough they had taken the money, however the chest had not been delivered. We phoned woolies only to be told that it had been delivered that very morning, but not signed for, and we should check with neighbours. So we did a quick check with the neighbours, no sign of delivery. Phoned them again, they checked, and said, ah yes, it was delivered that day at 10:03 - I said, "but it's 10.03 now, I'm looking out of the window and they are not here". Then they told me it had been signed for by " . . . " and she gave the name of my daughter. Now my daughter is 9 years old, she can't open the front door by herself and in her own words "I don't even have a signature yet!" So now I'm puzzled, then I'm kind of angry as this means that somehow woolies have obtained the name of my daughter from the delivery company (the order was in my Wifes name - and we have NEVER ordered anything in either name from woolworths before). After several days, customer services finally admitted that it was never delivered, and said that they would refund the money. They also said that we'd get 10% off our next order, but frankly I'm never going to order from them again. Oh and my daughters name apparently has something to do with Amazon - don't ask me. Sounds like a pretty serious breach of the data protection act to me. Maybe a letter to head office might focus thier attention on providing a proper explanation.

The idiots have now refunded me after I enquired about why my order had not been delivered. But I know from the posts here that they were aware that they could not, or were unwilling, to fulfil orders weeks earlier. So why did they not refund straight away? At best you could suggest that maybe it was incompetence, but I would suggest their failure to refund at the earliest opportunity lies more in the realm of dishonesty.

Never again will I buy from them and I will do whatever I can to tell everyone what a bunch of turds they are. I'm cool with with retailers cancelling orders if they have made a mistake but not with anyone dishonestly holding onto MY money when they have no right to do so.

I ordered on 3 jan and had a delivery date of 9 feb. Told several times that waiting for stock until queried a few days ago by email. Got an email back yesterday cancelling as couldn't get stock from manufacturer and hope that i will still order in the future. Really annoyed as could have bought others out of the sale!!
