Possible cowboy operation where many buyers have been disppointed & have problems left unresolved - buyer beware

I bought a Belstaff/Barbour style waxed motorcycle jacket from this site before. The first time I wore it in the rain I got soaked through. So if you're buying one of these to wear in wet weather, be careful.

Load of rubbish. I ordered one previously and the sizing is terrible. The arms ended just after my elbow.

That there is the reason the world moved on from wax cotton to technical man made waterproof fabrics. I remember wax cotton motorcycle jackets back in the 70's, they were just as crap then as they are now.

Are they really .....Ive gone and ordered one before comments went up , has anyone been pleased if they ordered

My son ordered one of these wax jackets from Jack & Anchor in large. The jacket arrived and measured 50 inches around the chest. - which is 2xl, although it had L on the label. Also the chest hand warmer pockets which were described as chest level, were situated just above the main pockets. Very odd looking. The quality is not good at all even at £29.00. Have just sent back for a full refund to include postage refund, as agreed by Customer Services Representative as item is not as described. Also don't bother phoning as I did several times. They do not get back to you. Only answer machine serves whole of the building. If thinking of ordering one of these, be very careful. I would order from House of Fraser or Marks & Spencer, where you can try on , where you are getting excellent quality and can return for free if having home delivery.

I ordered one, had the same problem I had with another wax jacket I had in that I needed a smaller size than I normally am. Think it's standard with these country style jackets, god knows why. Sent it back and got a smaller one back after a few days so can't really fault the service but do agree they're bigger than normal jackets.
#9
Really poor quality! Huge chest measurements and tiny arms! Garbage, going straight back!
#10
Just received my jacket today absolutely rubbish not at all like the photo the only similarity is the colour, I'm now dreading sending it back after reading these comments I would like my money back with little fuss lol

Does anyone have a working phone number for Jack and Anchor, the number on the website isn't working. I ordered a Large coat and have been sent an XL in different style. Cowboy company.
#12
its too late, I wish I had read the reviews. This is a person working from home, nothing else, the address doesn't exists, its a block of offices but their company is not based there, forget phoning them, their number also doesn't exists. im not sending it back as im sure I wont get my money back, and they'll keep my goods, but I have contacted the fraud unit of my bank, as ordered 2 jackets 10 days ago, and nothing has arrived. we have to stop others buying from these cowboys before its too late, they are on facebook, lets warn the other people.

Yeah i've made a mistake with this deal.
I had loads of hassle trying to return my brothers jacket as the Medium was far too big (as mentioned in the comments above) so i sent it back for a refund and it took ages for them to actually refund anything....and they only did that once i said I was going to take action if they didn't refund me my money.
Kind of seems like they're running a business out of some garage somewhere, where there's next to no admin and any major online processes.

nope you'll still look like a beanstick :)
#15
This is completely misleading people in order to make them feel that they are going to receive a different product to what you are actually send them. Poor customer service from

Ordered a Large but is massive! Looking to exchange but the emails I send bounce back and I've left numerous voicemails with no response. How did you guys successfully return/exchange your goods?

I literally sent the jacket back, then bombarded them with emails demanding a refund. [email protected] seems to be the reliable responding email. It took them a day to respond to say they've refunded the money yet it took over a week and an angry email before they actually gave me my money back!

Ordered this last night, wishing I hadn't bothered. Is it really that bad?

I mean, providing yours actually fits properly then it's not a bad jacket!
#20
Ordered a medium, comes up big.
But mine was just rolled into a delivery bag tightly.
As i've opened it, no plastic wrapping. No tags. Human hair on the corduroy collar.

Sending back now. Looks like i'm in for a long process! :D

Do not buy these jackets. My jacket has just arrived a week late. I'm a 40 inch chest and ordered a medium. I could fit in the jacket twice over. My colleague in the office who is a 44inch chest has just tried on my jacket and it is way too big for him too.
#22
** DON'T PURCHASE ONE OF THESE JACKETS. UTTER GARBAGE AND ITS PROVING TO BE DIFFICULT TO GET MY MONEY BACK! **
#23
Do NOT buy!! The tailoring is completely different to the picture. Not only it's always gonna be bigger than expected, the whole tailoring is diffent. Sending back in anger.

Good spot, ordered thanks
#25
Don't buy, no way are these worth £89 in the first place, let alone £29! Sizing is ridiculous and completely inaccurate and poor quality.
#26
I've ordered one of these jackets just to walk to work in so wasn't after anything fancy, however after 2 weeks I've still not received it and have sent several emails with no reply and the phone number doesn't even excist ***THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT ORDER***
#27
Seems I made a mistake ordering the brown wax XL jacket last week :/ Has anyone actually been pleased with what they ordered? I will post pictures of my jacket, if I ever get it that is.
#28
I ordered wax jacket on 3rd December - didn't turn up, emailed and eventually got reply saying they were sending another one out - still waiting! Sent two emails, no reply. Tried phoning and it says the number isn't receiving calls at the moment!!

Actually this is a bad spot. I ordered this because the pictures shows a Game jacket. however mine has just arrived and it's brandless cheap alternative. I found the same one on eBay for £18.95.

item281e01b190:m:mmNzrq3v5Wmr9xVeFmiksQA

This is the exact same jacket

So Actually it's £11 dearer than it should be.

I've requested a refund but not holding my breathe

Any suggestions on how to get a refund from these....number doesn't work...had a few response from email but not followed through with returning my money
#32
Anyone actually received what was ordered from them? Made the mistake of ordering a jacket before I looked at the reviews. Any advice on who to kick off at if it doesn't arrive on time?
#33
I normally do research into a company before buying online, but bought one of these wax jackets as an impulse buy. That was 8 days ago, still no jacket. Emailed them today and got a response saying:
"Hi Mark,
I can assure you that your order will be with you before the 14th it is currently at the warehouse and it should be out for delivery today and will be with you very soon."
Seems a coincidence it was out for delivery the same day I emailed them, though after reading the reviews above I doubt it will even be what I ordered when/if it arrives. Glad I ordered on my credit card, so if all else fails I'll go through them to get my money back.
#34
am I the only one who ordered one of their shooting style jackets and the jacket they sent was some dodgy knock off make not the one advertised in the pics. so not a 'game' jacket. completely different styling also. just some dodgy con guys
#35
Has anybody actually taken action further with this? I don't know the legalities of something like this but I'm tempted to contact Trading Standards to make then aware - I've already let Game know that their product images are being used to sell cheap tat.
#36
^^ same as above. I normally look into a company but this was an impulse buy. Waiting on my jacket and I'm still within the delivery time so just leaving it for now.

After reading the reviews, sadly in terms of the legalities, if it isn't as shown in the photo and as described then it's a misrepresentation and you can claim online pretty easily through the money claims online service in the U.K. That would be for the jacket, the postage back as a return and the fees for the claim. That is of course if you can get the company name and their trading address. Hopefully it won't come to that but starting to regret buying after reading the reviews... :S
#37
I bought one, saw these reviews next day and contacted them and said I didn't want it and they got back to me straight away and gave me a full refund. Maybe I was one of the lucky ones, who knows?
#38
Sizing terrible (huge) and average quality at best. I returned item (wax jacket) 4 weeks ago and not heard anything.
#39
I received a jacket from Jack & Anchor and it is terrible quality. It looks nothing like the product image on the website. It is also huge. I'm normally a Large, but it is closer to an XXL, if not bigger. This was an impulse buy, based on the cheap price and I should have known better. Too good to be true. PLEASE do not buy from this company . Having carried out a little research it looks like this is a cowboy operation, probably run by a small number of people from a garage somewhere. BUYER BEWARE!!!
#40
So, I ordered the same jacket and it hasn't turned up. I don't want it now. Impulse buy as it looked legit. The company is scamming, I saw the advert through Facebook which should hold some accountability for ongoing scams like this. Could be linked, could not but i found a spate of 'Jack and something' companies doing a similar thing in the past on TrustPilot. Jack + Fox for example. They used to have a storage unit at H&S 2a Charles street, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B70 0AZ, phone number 0121 557 5154. The address they have is a fake London address that people can buy for a few quid a month. They currently have a small unit at Claro Court Business Centre, unit 39. Looks like they have a fake delivery company i tracked them to. I have a number for that too and it's registered to a person.. Their facebook page is also a scam. You can buy thousands of Facebook likes for a pittance, they have hidden the comments which i'm sure are just jibberish to make it look active. The whole thing seems like a scam. DO NOT BUY. I will be changing my card as well. If anyone has any further info then please post it.
