I never understood what people do with these sort of hatchets.
I chop wood for fireplace and i use an axe.
How would you crack a log with an hatchet?
It's all a matter of scale, much as I my garden chinimea requires smaller pieces of material a large axe would be overkill to split those pieces of off-cut etc that I burn in it, this hatchet has proved plenty big enough and well constructed to deal with anything I have needed to split.

Surely it's pretty self evident how a smaller tool is suited to a smaller scale operation or are you still mashing nails into timber with a lump hammer? ;)
