Might be worth reading this if you're planning on sharing media via the WD Anywhere Access feature.

worked in the IT/Telecoms field for 20 years+....yep DRM, whoever thought this was a good idea should be shot......its killing progress.....a number of new ideas at mobile phoned companies i was contracted to were canned in part because of the legal ramifications regarding DRM (and also lack of clarifty who is legally responsible is say person X stores illegal content on company Y servers)...even if a company allows they could be deemed a secondary party, despite T&C's/disclaimers...crazy

the DRM inventor gets my darwin award

the second darwin award goes to WD for releasing this useless item, assuming its true what the previous poster said

Yep it's all very true, here's the list of restricted files from Western Digital Service and Support (credit to the poster of a comment on The Register's article for that link).

Is this DRM nonsense only on the World Edition drives ..... or on all the My Books across the range ??
