Looks good to me. Have the USB2 version, and the case (on the USB2) is a bit more minimalist (just a black box) which I prefer. Can't tell from te pic if this has a fan or if they are cooling vents. Either way for 3TB USB3 from from a reputable source and manufacturer, can't grumble.

Not a bad price, the 3 TB Mybook version can be had for a tenner more. Whats the better one to go for?

Been this price since late June. Someone here said that HDD prices are due to take a tumble soon. No idea whether there's any substance to that prediction though.

On the amazon page, on the comparison chart half way down, it lists the difference with the My Book, which seem to just be various different online back-ups.

This is an excellent deal and ought to be hotter that this.
Yes - you can get a Toshiba/Samsung/Seagate for maybe a few pennies less, but WD Customer Service is worth paying a little extra for.
I had the power supply for a 1TB MyBook fail after 26 months, and thought - ok - it's out of warranty (2 years) so I'm out of luck. Left it for another year and then decided - sod it - let's give it a go. Phoned WD Customer Service (0800 number) and explained the situation to them. The guy said "no problem sir, we'll ship you a replacement power supply free of charge". It arrived within 5 days.
