Not a bad price for a box with two easily removable 6TB hard drives in it. Way cheaper than buying the drives separately. Read More

Or buy two of these if you want just the HDD... work out at just £200 for 12TB.

That's an interesting deal, but your quoted price includes a referral bonus, a TopCashback rebate and a new Groupon account discount! So not quite as straightforward to achieve and your price is only half the story. Also the my book duo is designed in such a way that the drives can easily be removed. Hence a drive failure would be covered under warranty, whereas the Samsung you mention is a standard external that you would no doubt find hard to reconstruct perfectly if the drive failed...

Different product. Different target market.
Local backup/storage vs Cloud storage.
This is also user serviceable.

Although I've had a few recertified Usb drives from Western Digital, I wouldn't trust a recertified drive/recertified drives for drive removal and continuous use internally

Indeed. We were referring to taking the HDD out to make up a total of 12TB storage. Agreed, if you wanted to keep the functionality of the original product then this is very different. But if all you want is two HDD removed from the device as we were discussing, this is a cheaper way to do it.
