Cracking price, albeit for a rather basic NAS.

hmmm not sure - I know hard drives fail intermittently i've just had two of the four recertified drives I brought last month fail as well as a recertified NAS and only 6 months warranty.

YUP worn porn! buyer beware. Cheap for a reason and very limited warranty. Not to worry people will see the price and buy then be on just outside the warranty crying all their stuff has gone and where do they stand.

I JUST HOPE WE ARE NOT GOING TO GET EVERY RECERTIFIED DRIVE POSTED as people often to dothe cheap heat.

I've bought a few recertified and second hand portable drives and had no issues. people can be far too paranoid about hard drives IMO ..

Can anyone advise if this has the plex app installed?

What I'd ideally like to do is use this as an always on Plex server.

i Dont think anyone has plex pre-installed. I suspect this is too weedy cpu for plex. get a roku/nowtv/firestick/droid-box and you should be able to play your files from this.

Those are all fine for clients... I was wanting to use this as a server, albeit a non-transcoding one. There's stuff here about Plex on a MyCould drive:

Just looking for some real world experience.

Edit: OK never mind - looks like not all My Could drives are supported:

This won't have Plex. The newer Synology NAS drives do have Plex pre-installed though - I have a DS115 and it has the Plex app, but i've never used it because I prefer Kodi which, for me, does exactly the same thing.
