Great little device. Ive had mine for 6 months now and paid £149.99 from Argos.

Also comes with a 'photo backup app' (download from play store free) to upload your phone photos to your personal cloud.

The only down point is 'personal storage'. everything uploaded via the app is public. .. so beware if you like to take naked selfies. Lol.

"everything uploaded via the app is public"
And you bought one?
Wow, fair enough.

What I think he means is that there is no privacy settings to lock folders, so everyone on the local network has complete access to all files. This is not that bad a thing, as it would cost more for per user private folder quotas.

I've got the 2tb version - highly recommended :)

I'm looking at using a NAS drive for Backup of photos, but also use as a media server with my WD TV LIVE.

so it's out of this WD Cloud, or http://www.dabs.com/products/buffalo-2tb--2-x-1tb--linkstation-duo-raid-0-1-6KQL.html?awc=3044_1406893686_26518826317ee486165abf110397d992&referrerid=AW&utm_source=awin&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_content=AW00
Buffalo 2TB (2 x 1TB) LinkStation Duo RAID 0/1 - £136.99 (missed the last deal at £121)

I'm not fussed on the loss of 1tb for the money, my main problem is how would I stream movies to the WD TV via ethernet, rather than lagging the wifi.

Would it help if you allow it to buffer for a minute or so before playing?

I've got one of these and you can choose which folders are set as public and secure any folders you don't want anyone seeing with a password.

What CKEBROWN2212 meant is that the app uploads the photos to the public folder only.

Like the price, even better it nets down to £109.99 as there is a £10 gift card promotion for spending over £100 at Argos
Have reserved one for pick-up tomorrow
