Hmmm..... 1x 1tb or 2x 500gb? Can't make up my mind. Need to find the money for 2x 1tb because only one is not safe :)

But a lot of people who read these threads arent sure. Thought it was a reasonable request to state it was a 2.5" drive.

I would agree, the term portable is rather subjective, 2.5 inches is not.

Arghhh very very tempting! I'm very much in need of one these right now. I'll wait for the price to come down a little more though this is a very good price in itself. ;)

Anyone know if this can be removed from the enclosure and installed in a PS3?

From WDC.com:

*750 GB and 1 TB models are 12.5 mm high and may not be compatible with all notebook systems. Consult system specifications for maximum allowable drive height before attempting to install.

I think the PS3 only takes 9.5mm height drives so it probably won't fit.

good price, but im still waiting for them to drop to the £50 mark, I know ill be waiting a while but my 120gb one will do me for now lol. Heat added

These are far far cheaper than this for 1tb, wasn't there one on here for about £50?

Technically its not 2.5" , that th internal hard drive size not the casing. There are also only 2 types of drive , portable and non portable so still kinda obvious which one the OP was listing

:) You should inform Freecom of this seen as they have a 3.5" portable out.

Not really. Almost any external drive is by definition portable. Even a fully laden Drobo unit can be moved around. All my 3.5" external drives were labelled portable.

Does anyone know if it would be suitable for a Mac?
