By the dimensions on the WD page, 2.5mm drives are 7.5/9mm thick and this is 19?

I guess you're right (_;) although it looks like the drive will be bust anyway (since they'll have had to cut some from the sides to fit it in the 78mm width!!!)

... or maybe most 1TB 2.5" drives are actually 12.5mm thick and there's a case around the drive that accounts for the rest of the thickness?

more to do with formats/codecs the HDTV/Smart TV can handle rather than drive itself
