That doesn't make this a cold deal. I'm sure you probably know this already but... sigh, hard drive prices have been a lot higher recently due to the floods in Thailand and, even though they have started to get cheaper, haven't quite reached the pre-flood price levels again. I suspect you probably knew this and are just trying to be a pain. I think you'll struggle to find this (or any other 500GB USB 3.0 portable hard drive) any cheaper right now... thus making it a good deal.
Oh, and it's "bought".

Yeah, I paid £56 delivered for my 1TB one at Currys last year. The current prices are seriously naff.

This is a shame as I wanted to replace my 3.5" HDDs with quieter 1TB 2.5" ones but at current prices it just isn't worth it.
I have it's bigger brother, a 1tb version, and can vouch for the fact that it is quiet. So quiet that you hardly notice it at all.

Yep companies & manufacturers are very happy for the average joe to continue paying these current high prices. Until there is a drastic drop in purchase for people they will keep the prices high.
