Yeah i tried one of them but none near me left, But USB powered ones are better for use with Wii and for mobile use as dont need a power supply to run em (run of USB only)

But you need to pick them up instore for a chance of getting the portable one.
Officially you're supposed to get the desktop version but instore they don't seem to realise this and give out either version.

The link I posted is to the Iomega Prestige Aluminium Desktop or Portable (USB powered) for £36.99 from Currys, not the ugly looking black plasticy desktop one from Comet.

Yes i did and its still a big 3.5 drive not a small 2.5 mobile one and yes i agree its still a great deal too :)

Going by the site its NOT usb powered it has a mains adapter "Position your Iomega Prestige External Hard Drive vertically, using the included stand. An eco-friendly Energy Star power adaptor supplies clean and efficient power to the drive."

But if you end up with a 2.5 usb powered one then even better pal thats bloody right bargin :)

Read the comments.
Reserve the 3.5" online but pickup the 2.5" instore.
I presume it shows up on their system as a "Iomega Prestige 500 GB" reserved for £36.99 and since that's what both models are called they don't know the difference. :whistling:

Aren't WD bringing out a 750 meg and 1 tb 2.5 USB drives early in the new year ? (or did I dream reading that ?).

If so the price of the smaller ones will drop even lower. . .

The same drive costs £59.99 at Currys instore and online. The OP has put up the wrong picture, which is of the Passport Essentials drive.

The Elements drive looks like this:

http://www.currys.co.uk:80/product/500/UV/509061.jpg

PC World and larger Currys already have the 750GB and 1TB Passport Essentials drives. They cost a fair bit more for the extra capacity.
