Surely the fact that the drive is USB means that it works with the Xbox One?

Can someone recommend a 2tb ps4 compatible drive? :)

If you pay using American Express and have uploaded the offer to your credit card, there's also another £10 off (£10 credit via a £50 spend).

This isn't hot at all. As you said it sells at the same price at Argos and Amazon, and has done so for at least a week. there's no DEAL here so how is this a hot UK deal? I'm confused

Anyone used this to play films off such as a blu ray player? Currently using usb sticks but this one would be nice!

You would think so but they don't. It has to be USB3 and check the speed first. This one and the similar Touro at Tesco are great. This would get my vote as I am using it now with no probs and the 5 year warranty

macrium reflect is also very good for backups

I like the idea of NAS. However, some reviews suggest that wireless back up speed trends to be slow. would buying this hard drive together with Verbatim 98243 MediaShare Wireless be a better alternative? I would be grateful for some advice.

£50 is pretty much the standard price for this drive from Amazon. Loads of people were lucky enough to get the 2TB version for £59.99 from Argos the other month and a select few even managed to get John Lewis to price match it even though clearly Argos had made a mistake on their website!

It's USB 2 and USB 3 and 5 Years Manufacturers warranty according to the specs on Curry's site.

Has anyone checked on WD website using serial number that the warranty is indeed 5-year?

It is infact 5 year warranty. Purchased this today and registered it on Western Digital's website. Mines ending 31/12/2019.

Seems to be a special promotion. It usually retails at £50, but with 5 year warranty it is a no brainer.

Thanks for the info, was debating the 2tb version of this or the 2tb Toshiba from Argos however the warranty swings it for me.

macrium reflect is also very good for backups

I think all WD users are entitled to use the WD version of Acronis for free:
http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119

with that in mind, there is very little reason to use anything else, although reflect is a very capable option too.
