Cheapest so far I think

Thanks to this all-new WD TV HD Media Player from Western Digital, you can turn any external, USB-enabled hard drive into a high definition media player!

This tiny devices supports Full HD 1080p resolutions and is very easy to use. Simply hook it up to your TV via the HDMi socket or the composite A/V jack (cable included), plug it into the hard drive where your music, photos and videos are stored, and enjoy all this entertainment on your widescreen display!

The WD TV HD Media Player is compatible with the most popular files, such as MPEG-1/2/4 (including H.264), MOV, AVI and MKV. It also works with JPEG, TIFF, BMP and PNG images, as well as MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, FLAC and Dolby Digital music.

You can connect as many USB drives as you wish to the Western Digital WD TV HD Media Player by using an optional USB hub, meaning you'll be able to increase the size of your media collection without any problem. The player is even supplied with a handy remote control so you can access all these features from your favourite armchair!

Just got my one from Amazon and I must say it's superb.
This is different to the lates WD LIVE which can DTS downsample as well!! Good price nonetheless!!
Shipping fees: From £ 6.20 Inc. VAT
add shipping and it is the same price as Amazon ...

... I know where I would be getting it from if I needed another one

Mini can't do 1080p or MKVs, but does support RMVB (Realmedia) which the older one doesn't (although I'd hazard a guess that they may add this in a future firmware update).

This is still the best value media player out there, and it's even smaller than you can imagine. It will literally fit in the palm of your hand.

Mmm, other info: it has 2 USB ports (for say, HDD + USB stick) and no network connection (wireless or otherwise).

Hope that helped.
Thanks Dr Dark. Think I'm sold on the mini.
