"These products are either ex-display, end of line, or "as new" customer returns."

Sounds like folk might have bought them at the higher price and returned them as not up to scratch.

They look pretty good, but I think someone did mention the short battery life in the other thread. Although they do come with AC adaptor too.

Thanks for the pointer Emma :)

Ideal if your looking for a present but something different, maybe for your 13 year olds birthday or something.

I am sure my 13 year old would be over the moon with this little gadget. Not sure how good the reception would be though.

do you have to hold an aerial up in the air with your other hand to get a good picture?

Just so people know NHJ have gone bankrupt in Japan (although I think the US arm of the operation is still going)

I was lucky to buy a NHJ PVR in the gadget shop's final days at a really good orice

SEE HERE

And had no problem with it what so ever and managed to pick up a replacement battery on ebay for £10

Actually I think there's an ongoing debate about this, for the days when people will have free access to TV on their mobiles for example. If they have a TV license at home, they will be covered, but if not, they will be committing an illegal act. !!

would be better buying one of the Lobster mobile phones

By law if it doesnt plug into the mains then you dont need one so all handheld tvs are license free (i think)

If you want something more modern, try the Brando MP4 watch from their Hong Kong site. Only the equivalent of 50 quid for the 1GB model, plus 3 dollars delivery. It doesn't get stung for import duty either.

See the usual nerd sites for a review and comments on it's failings, but it's a great gadget!

Would you need a £140 tv licence if you got one of these?

according to the web page other people considered the Humax PVR9200T
Digital Freeview 160gb Twin Tuner , you would need to also buy a wheel barrow and a generator
